‘This offensive line class has some very nice players near the top. There’s a good seven or eight players who could be drafted in the first round at either tackle or guard, and that’s excellent news for the Bills, who need to add to that position. I’ve advocated for the Bills trading down from nine all along, now I’m thinking ‘what of they traded down and took offensive linemen with their first two picks?’ I don’t think it’s out of the question, and depending on how they address wide receiver in free agency, I think it’s a possibility.’

Why LB Anthony Barr makes sense for the Buffalo Bills
‘Barr has the same versatility so that he can stay on the field to help the Bills struggling pass rushing efforts from the 2018 season. And, he’s so athletically gifted, that he can stay on the field in coverage even when teams bring their third receiver into the game.’
What They’re Saying: 6 observations on the Bills from the NFL Combine
‘“I thought Josh was terrific in what he was asked to do,” NFL Network analyst Bucky Brooks told the show. “Is he a finished product? No. But he had success. And they allowed him to play the way he needed to play to win games. I think you have to surround him with guys that can help him and maybe mask some of his deficiencies.”’
Bills Today: Bills culture draws praise from this former NFL executive
‘“I’ve liked Sean since the first time I’ve heard him,” said Lombardi. “From what I’ve seen up there and what they’ve done, and Beane as the general manager, they have been able to A: admit mistakes and B: get rid of players that thought it was all about the player and not about the team and putting the team first. I’m going to resonate to anyone like that.”‘
Lack of tight ends no laughing matter for Bills
‘The good news for the Bills, at least in terms of the draft, is that it’s considered a deeper-than-usual class. A total of 21 tight ends participated in this year’s NFL Scouting Combine, which is more than a normal year.’
Bills add former Patriots center as offensive assistant
‘Wendell played eight seasons in the NFL, retiring after injuries limited him to a total of three games in 2015 and ’16. He played all but one of his 80 career games with the Patriots, starting all 16 games in 2012 and ’13; the other game was with the Carolina Panthers.’
Sean McDermott likes hiring smart guys such as new QB coach Ken Dorsey
‘“It always starts with who the person is, you have to be able to check that box first,” McDermott said Wednesday in his first public comments about Dorsey. “So obviously firsthand experience working with Ken and who he is, the great family he has around him. You start there and go to the other parts of it. The overlap, his work with Cam Newton. There’s similarities (to Allen) between what Cam brings to the table in some ways with the athleticism, the mobility, the size, there’s certainly some parallels.”’
Bills Acknowledge Need To Build Around Allen as Combine Comes To A Close
‘“At the end of the day there is an adjustment and we have to make that adjustment as evaluators whether from the coach level or personnel side of things,” said Head Coach Sean McDermott. “At the end of the day we’re looking for critical factors that will help us determine whether A) this player will fit us and B) develop into a good football player.”’
Bills Today: B/R picks the perfect combine prospect for the Bills
‘Ford’s combine numbers aren’t eye-popping, but the Bills should be more interested in his interviews and what has been shown on tape. For the past two seasons Ford has been an integral part of an offensive line that produced consecutive Heisman winning quarterbacks.’
One-on-One Coverage: Assistant GM Joe Schoen on drafting for success
‘Schoen knew he wanted to stay in sports after college. When playing professionally didn’t prove to be an option, he began exploring the possibility of working for an NFL team. Through a friend of a friend, his mother helped him get his foot in the door in 2000 as an intern with the Carolina Panthers, where he met Brandon Beane, a front-office executive prepping for the GM job he eventually landed with the Bills. Schoen started off in the Panthers’ ticket office before Beane had him working in football operations.’
Jay Skurski’s Bills Mailbag: How important is the NFL scouting combine for teams?
‘The combine still has real value for teams. That starts with collecting detailed medical reports on players. The other value comes in getting to hold 60 formal, 15-minute interviews with prospects. Although that’s not enough time to learn the player’s life story, it is enough for teams to quiz him on whatever topic they want to be addressed, be it on the field or off. Keep in mind that only 30 pre-draft visits can be made.’
Inside the Bills: Daughter’s dream helps fuel Sean McDermott’s advocacy for women in coaching
‘“I almost got emotional up there, watching it,” he said after the hour-long panel discussion that also included head coaches Bruce Arians (Buccaneers), John Harbaugh (Ravens) and Ron Rivera (Panthers). “I’m thinking, ‘we’re at the combine and my daughter’s picture is up on the screen.’ It’s emotional for me because I know what the Bills and how important my job is to my family. You see coaches on TV maybe, but sometimes you forget that there’s families behind them that really put a lot into the job as well. That’s on a personal level.’
Jordan Phillips ‘hopeful’ that deal with Buffalo Bills is close
‘Some believed that Phillips’ tweet meant that he had re-signed with the Bills, but that isn’t the case. When asked if a deal was done, Phillips told NYUP, “Not officially, but hopefully.” At the very least, it sounds as though the gap between Phillips’ reps and the Bills have narrowed.’
2019 NFL Free Agency: Latest on potential Buffalo Bills targets | Matt Paradis, Jesse James, more
‘Matt Paradis has been one of the most popular names in terms of potential targets for the Bills. It’s no surprise that the Broncos are interested in bringing the center back into the fold after seeing he’s ahead of schedule in terms of recovering from a broken fibula, but Paradis would be foolish to agree to anything with Denver ahead of free agency.’
2019 NFL Scouting Combine: Recapping the week from Bills’ perspective
‘“They want to learn how to eat right, they want to be in there and lift, they’re in there when you’re not even asking,” Beane said. “If their ankle is a little sore but nothing bad happened they’re in there getting treatment on it on their own just to give themselves the best chance to make every practice, which obviously the more you can practice the better you’re going to play on Sunday.”’
