‘“I was surprised,” Roberts said. “Any guy that was an All-Pro, and their team doesn’t really want to sign him back, I think would be surprised. It is what it is. This is my sixth team, so I’ve been in free agency more than once. I understand what it is. I understand it’s a business thing.”’

Brandon Beane: Bills at a ‘standstill’ with Ziggy Ansah
‘”There’s a couple guys out there, but we’re mainly in a holding pattern there,” he said. “I don’t know that there’s a guy out there that we would probably jump on before the draft, but depending on what we land in the draft, maybe there’s some guys that we pursue after that, separate of Ziggy, whether we go after him or not.”‘
Bills GM Brandon Beane on free agent DE Ziggy Ansah: ‘We had a great visit’
‘“We had a great visit with Ziggy and he’s a great young man,” Beane said Thursday morning on WGR 550 radio. “He had a tough shoulder injury last year and he’s still rehabbing that. I know he went on a couple other visits, or at least one other that I’m aware of. We had great talks with him and his agent. It’s kind of just at a standstill right now but it doesn’t mean it will or it won’t happen. We’ll see going forward and we’ll stay in touch with him and his representatives.”’
Buffalo Bills to work out TE Jake Fisher
‘Fisher, 25, was originally drafted in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals as an offensive tackle. In four seasons with the team, Fisher appeared in 48 games making 12 starts. Although he could have continued his career at offensive tackle, Fisher decided to attempt a position change to tight end this offseason.’
All-Pro Andre Roberts calls out ‘shady’ Jets the minute he leaves
‘“The way they kind of handled it was a little shady, but it is what it is,” Roberts said. “I’m a Buffalo Bill now and I’m enjoying being here.”’
All-Pro Andre Roberts continues blasting ‘shady’ Jets after signing with Bills
‘OK, no surprise there, really – just a former player wanting a little bit of revenge. But when coupled with another of Roberts’ lines, it’s an eyebrow-raiser.’
Nebraska strong
‘“Nebraskans take care of their own,” said Buffalo Bills guard and former Husker football standout Jeremiah Sirles. “All of the guys here, we’re Nebraskans. Whether we live in Lincoln, Columbus or Schuyler, we just all take care of our own.”’
Beane knew offense was a need in free agency
‘”Ideally in free agency, you can knock out as many ‘needs’ that you have, which makes it easier to draft best player available. I know that’s always a big debate. Are teams really drafting best player available versus need and all that,” Beane said. “If you go in and you have a major hole, you don’t have a starting position somewhere, then you have to get that position somewhere fairly high in the draft. I feel that if we rolled the ball out now, we’ve got guys that can go in and play. Can we get better? Yes, and [just like in free agency] we hope to, in the draft, find some more talent to add competition to as many spots as we can.”‘
How new tight end Tyler Kroft has endeared himself to Buffalo fans
‘“I felt a good connection with the team,” Kroft said. “My agent was really excited about what’s going on here, between personnel in the building and players. It seems like Buffalo’s on the up, like you guys have a good thing going here. I’m excited to be a part of it.”’
Bills teammates, Nebraska natives Spencer Long and Jeremiah Sirles rally to help flood victims
‘“We came together earlier this week and after seeing all the destruction and damage, we were just like ‘We need to do something’ and [so we] reached out to some of our contacts and were trying to brainstorm ideas,” explained Long whose hometown, Elkhorn, Nebraska, was greatly affected.’
Bills Today: Bills 2018 draft grade still strong a year later
‘Buffalo had eight picks in last year’s NFL draft culminating in players like Josh Allen, Tremaine Edmunds, Harrison Phillips and Taron Johnson. Eleven months after the draft, ESPN NFL draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. took a look at each franchise’s 2018 draft class and re-graded them after one year. Buffalo originally received an ‘A’ from Kiper Jr. for the haul and one-year later they received an A-. Only Cleveland and Indianapolis received higher grades than what was originally given to them.’
