Dolphins, Bills close out disappointing seasons
‘”You’re looking at production and looking at young guys,” McDermott said. “And when you have opportunities, you’ve got to make plays and then looking at some young guys.”‘
McDermott expects McCoy to get ‘back on track,’ and in Buffalo in 2019
‘“I’m really excited about where we’re going and LeSean being a part of that,” he said. “I know this year wasn’t what he had hoped it would be. The biggest thing I want to see is ‘what are we going to do to get it back to where it needs be?’ I think he’s committed to that cause and so are we.”‘
Sikkema: Allen has ‘rolled with some punches’
‘”Josh Allen, he had his struggles early on and we all thought that he was going to have his struggles early on. But Allen has also not only learned on the fly, he’s rolled with some punches. Even if you enjoyed the Allen pick, and even if you hated it, you’ve got to be able to look at this and say, ‘Okay, there’s a couple building blocks here.’ There’s flashes and moments where you see something of a guy who was worth that pick.”‘
McDermott discusses season finale
‘When asked about how much Josh Allen’s playing time this season will make a difference going forward, McDermott said, “it’s been very valuable, and I think Josh would say that,we feel we are ahead of where we may have been had he not played this year, going in to this off season, going into next season, you feel like the growth has been there, the amount of reps, whether it be Jason Croom, Josh Allen, Robert Foster, you name it, these young guys they’re ahead of where they would have been had they not gotten the playing time they got this season.”‘
Bills hope Sunday not finale for Alexander, Williams
‘Both players are 35 years old (Alexander is 11 days older than Williams). They are the oldest playerst on the team (by less than a week over Derek Anderson) and among the top 40 oldest players in the league.’
Quick Hits: Sean McDermott reaffirms commitment to LeSean McCoy
‘“Overall, I’m really excited about where we’re going and LeSean being a part of that,” said McDermott. “I know this year wasn’t what he had hoped it would be and the biggest thing is I want to see is what we’re going to do to get it back to where it needs to be. I think he’s committed to that cause as are we.”’
Wednesday injury report: Chris Ivory a full participant
‘Ivory, who has been an inactive player for each of the last two games, has left a combination of either LeSean McCoy and Keith Ford, or Keith Ford and Marcus Murphy to handle the workload over the Bills last two games.’
Bills Today: Kyle, ‘Zo connect McDermott’s message to players
‘“They’re doing a real good job,” McDermott said. “Two of my biggest leaders at the player level that really connect my message to the locker room. Kyle’s been here for a number of years, and I think he feels the direction of this organization, he feels the direction of this team. He’s been a big part of it this past year and a half. The same with Lorenzo and what he’s done, the way he’s prepared himself, the roles he’s played. It’s all I could ask for as a head coach.”’
One-on-One Coverage: Bills’ Josh Allen on rookie season, off-field life, boyhood heroes
‘The platform it gives you, you get to do a lot of good. But being an NFL quarterback, it’s the only thing I’ve ever wanted to be. Just being able to play football at the highest level, in front of some of the most amazing fans here in Buffalo — I think they’re the most amazing fans that the league has — but just to be in a city, to be a part of a community and to be playing for an historic franchise.’

A Christmas surprise for one of Buffalo’s biggest fans
‘This month, more than 60 Bills fans have raised more than $5,000 to send Castro, his girlfriend, and his kids to Orlando. They found out while at the ‘Bills Backers’ bar in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Castro’s hometown, on Sunday during halftime of the Bills game against New England.’
Upon further review: Examining the future at tight end after Charles Clay
‘Moving on from Clay creates an opening in the starting lineup. Determining whether Croom can fill that in 2019 is a big question for the coaching staff. The Bills have a combined 493 receiving yards from four tight ends this season – Croom with 227, Clay with 184, Logan Thomas with 77 and Khari Lee with 5. There are 17 tight ends in the NFL with as many or more yards than the Bills’ group.’
Video Review: Forget the defense, Josh Allen was two weapons shy of a load vs. Pats
‘The Pats were ripe to be beaten. The Bills were just too young and two receiving weapons shy of a load.’
Position Grades: Patriots’ heavy front stifled runs, Bills missed Milano
‘The Bills missed Matt Milano. The Pats ran at rookie Corey Thompson repeatedly. He got caught inside two plays in a row on the third-quarter TD drive.’
