‘Not to defend the officiating, which made the game unwatchable at times. But when 23 penalty flags are thrown, enough for referee Walt Coleman and his crew to develop tennis elbow, it’s safe to assume the players weren’t interested in any Sportsmanship of the Year awards.’

Report card
‘Let’s face it, Blake Bortles is brutal. He poses almost no threat as a passer, so I’ll temper my excitement about the Bills’ performance. He had 79 yards prior to the Jaguars’ late TD drive after Buffalo had taken a 24-14 lead and finished with 123 yards. True, some of his struggles were due to the Bills playing well, but honestly, the Jaguars were running so well, they really didn’t need to pass. Jordan Poyer and Matt Milano both had interceptions on passes that were tipped, so those were not entirely Bortles’ fault. Buffalo’s pass rush was strong late in the game, led by Kyle Williams who had 1.5 sacks.’
Flexing, fighting Bills top Jags
‘“Our defense stepped up … they started with the ball inside the one and ended up trying a field goal, and they missed. I thought that gave us a spark.”’
Pollock: Allen’s inspired performance had a franchise look
‘And while we still don’t know, and won’t for a while, whether the former Wyoming star is the “franchise QB” Buffalo has long been seeking, the early returns are encouraging.’
Notebook: Bills sack Bortles three times as Jags’ losing streak continues
‘The initial sack of the game was recorded by veteran Buffalo tackle Kyle Williams, who dumped Bortles. Later, Williams (5 sacks on the season) and end Jerry Hughes (team-leading 6) combined to sack Bortles. Buffalo’s final sack was logged by outside linebacker Lorenzo Alexander, giving him 5.5 on the year.’
Welcome back, Josh Allen: 8 observations from rookie’s return to Bills (videos)
‘Allen completed passes to eight different receivers — two of them, Isaiah McKenzie and Deonte Thompson, he was playing with for the first time — and took care of the football. The Bills had two interceptions by the defense and the offense, under Allen’s direction, didn’t have a single turnover in the game.’
Buffalo Bills beat Jaguars: 5 reasons to be encouraged, 4 reasons to worry
‘Brian Daboll has called great games in Buffalo’s last two matchups. On Sunday, Daboll did a nice job of working with Josh Allen’s strengths as a passer and runner. He’s also finding ways to utilize Isaiah McKenzie in a variety of ways.’
Bills’ Lorenzo Alexander on Jaguars’ Jalen Ramsey: ‘We shut him up’
‘”I would like to see what he thought now after playing the way that Josh played today,” Alexander said. “He played physical and ran over some of the defensive players and made some big plays. When you talk, you have to show up and show out, and Josh was able to do that just by showing the way he played today.”‘
Does Jalen Ramsey still think Josh Allen is trash after loss to Bills?
‘”He caused damage running the ball,” Ramsey said. “(Ninety-nine yards rushing), that’s a lot of yards for a quarterback. He was probably their leading rusher, I would assume. So just him scrambling, extended and creating plays for their team was something that hurt us today.”‘
What Bills, Jaguars said about brawl that led to Leonard Fournette ejection
‘”There was something there,” Hyde said. “I feel like Fournette was going after Shaq the whole game, just talking junk to Shaq. I know Shaq, he’s not quiet. I’m surprised we can’t hear him (in the locker room) right now. He’s not a quiet guy. But he’s my teammate, and I understand the circumstances that he was in. He had it on his phone after the game that the dude just came over and hit him. As a man, you have to defend yourself. I’m not saying get kicked out of the game … none of that is good. It is what it is. We move on and will discuss his stuff in the future and hopefully get him back soon.”‘
Report Card: Josh Allen, Bills victorious in flag fest over Jaguars
‘People who simply look at the box score won’t have any idea just how good Josh Allen was on Sunday against the Jaguars. He completed 8-of-19 passes for 160 yards and a touchdown, but had some big third down completions taken away due to penalties and his wide receivers added a few drops. Allen had a few poor passes, but this was his best game of the season throwing the ball.’
Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen the latest quarterback to make Jalen Ramsey eat crow
‘The Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback shared his opinion on various NFL quarterbacks in an interview with GQ leading up to the 2018 season. While Ramsey was complimentary toward many quarterbacks, he also shredded others to pieces. Three of the quarterbacks that Ramsey ripped apart have gone against Ramsey and the Jaguars. Here’s a look at what Ramsey said about the quarterbacks and how those players responded.’
NFL Week 13 odds, over/under: Bills open as underdog at Dolphins
‘The Bills (4-7) opened as a six-point underdog against their Week 13 opponent, the Miami Dolphins (5-6). Buffalo hits the road for its second-to-last away game for its first divisional matchup against the Dolphins.’
Bills QB Josh Allen flips script on Jalen Ramsey, Jaguars
‘Allen ran through the middle of the Jaguars defense like a running back, even stiff-armed Jaguars defensive end Yannick Ngakoue on a 14-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.’
