‘Trubisky beat a Miami blitz on this play in Week 6, hitting Cohen, a running back, for a 50-yard gain on a circle route out of the backfield. Miami blitzed, and rookie linebacker Jerome Baker was stuck chasing Cohen in one-on-one coverage.’

Inside the Bills: Midseason report card
‘It’s been troubling to hear players talk about not being prepared for what the other team was going to do, particularly after the loss to the Colts. That’s on the coaching staff. McDermott is doing his best to focus on the positives, but that’s getting increasingly difficult to do. The results under offensive coordinator Brian Daboll have been disastrous, but it’s tough to truly judge him because of the woeful weapons he has to work with. The defense under Leslie Frazier has been very good three out of the last four weeks, save the Indianapolis meltdown.’
Voice of the Fan: Cast your votes in our Bills midseason elections
‘The progressive choice is to vote Beane out of office. In over his head from Day One, the team and roster have regressed. What we needed before, and now, is a football czar to take over all football operations, and then hire a steady, experienced cabinet to report directly to him.’
Buffalo Bills will be without Derek Anderson and Tremaine Edmunds against Bears
‘Anderson and Edmunds both sustained concussions in Monday night’s 25-6 loss to the New England Patriots. Nathan Peterman is expected to start at quarterback and Edmunds, the team’s leading tackler will be replaced in the starting lineup by Julian Stanford.’
Nathan Peterman gets another chance to revive the moribund Bills offense
‘Bears 23, Bills 7.’
Bills vs. Bears: How to watch, listen, plus things to know before kickoff
‘This is just the 13th time the teams have met, with the Bears holding a 7-5 lead. In the last game, E.J. Manuel led a comeback 23-20 victory in overtime at Soldier Field on opening day in 2014. The previous “home” game for Buffalo came in Toronto in 2010, a 22-19 Chicago victory. The Bears haven’t actually played in Buffalo since 2002, a 33-27 overtime Bills victory led by Drew Bledsoe who threw for 328 yards and four TDs including the winner to Travis Henry.’
Bills Mafia donates to Chicago charity after NBC Sports calls Bills fans a laughingstock
‘”I found that to not be the best portrayal of what the Bills Mafia really is. We’re a family community of fans that look out for each other,” said Purdy, a 2004 Victor High School graduate who is now a teacher in Colorado Springs, Colorado. “I could’ve responded in a different way but this seemed to be the Bills Mafia way.’
Peterman is back as Bills host Bears
‘At the season’s midway point, the Bills (2-6) are headed nowhere, and Peterman carries the burden of 10 interceptions (including the playoff loss at Jacksonville) in a mere 84 passing attempts. Two of his picks have been returned for touchdowns.’
Pollock: Bills are still paying price at quarterback
‘It’s a certified mess and if circumstances put Barkley on the field this afternoon, it will exponentially increase the embarrassment for Buffalo’s reeling front office.’
Khalil Mack ‘unlikely’ to play vs. Buffalo Bills, says Adam Schefter
‘Mack suffered the ankle injury in Week 6 during the Bears’ 31-28 overtime loss to the Miami Dolphins. He played 54 snaps in Week 7 against the New England Patriots, but was ruled inactive for the team’s Week 8 matchup against the New York jets.’
Buffalo Bills vs. Chicago Bears: Preview, odds, predictions for Week 9
‘Buffalo has just three receiving touchdowns this year and added veteran receiver Terrelle Pryor this week to try and bolster the lackluster unit. Pryor was released by the New York Jets on Oct. 20 and signed with the Bills less than two weeks later. In six games with the Jets Pryor had two touchdown receptions, which gives him the team-high now that he’s in Buffalo.’
Buffalo Bills fans take high road after NBC Sports Chicago knocks Bills Mafia
‘Ahead of the Bills’ matchup with the Chicago Bears, NBC Sports Chicago ran a video feature on Twitter that asked, “Who are Bills Mafia?” The video featured clips of fans slamming one another through tables while various terms came across the screen to describe the fan base. The most insulting of the captions was when the media outlet referred to the Bills Mafia as “the laughing stock of the league.”‘
Bills fans mocked, Bills Mafia fights back with pediatric cancer donations to Chicago’s bearnecessities.org
‘Bills fans decided to fight back, financially. A single donation was made by a fan Eric (twitter handle (@COBillsFan) to the a pediatric cancer foundation in Chicago called Bear Necessities on their website (bearnecessities.org).’
