‘Buffalo won with a quarterback they signed off the street just a week-and-a-half earlier: Matt Barkley. The former USC star – drafted in 2012 by Philadelphia, who hadn’t taken an NFL game snap since the end of the 2016 season in Chicago – completed a 47-yard long bomb to an undrafted rookie (Robert Foster) on the first scrimmage snap of the game, then completed 14 of his next 24 throws for 232 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the best passing performance by a Bills quarterback in a long time.’

Bills superfan with Stage IV cancer gives chilling pep talk
‘“What you guys go through, us regular people go through. What I’m going through — Stage IV metastatic adenocarcinoma of the biliary pancreatic — it took me a while to learn that. My last scan didn’t look too good. Things got worse. The doctor wasn’t too promising about it. I know it’s crazy, I seriously take my mask in to every treatment. Because when I put the mask on, it just give me an extra boost of energy. Just as you guys put on the helmet, it gives you guys an extra boost of energy. I can relate to you guys in that aspect.’

Robert Foster breaks out for Buffalo Bills 1 day after promotion from practice squad
‘In his first start in the NFL on Sunday, Foster more than doubled that yardage, catching three passes for 105 yards in the Buffalo Bills’ 41-10 victory over the New York Jets.’
Robert Foster returns to Buffalo Bills’ active roster
‘An undrafted rookie from Alabama, Foster had spent the past three weeks on the Bills’ practice squad after playing in Buffalo’s first six games of the season.’
Barkley, Bills light up listless Jets in 41-10 laugher
‘”I don’t know,” Barkley said. “That’s a question I don’t have the answer to, nor the authority to answer. I’ll be ready to play. This QB situation seems to be fluctuating. In whatever way I can help this team, that’s my goal.”‘
Bills not certain of starting QB after Matt Barkley beats Jets
‘A source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter before Sunday’s win that Allen is expected to be ready to return after the Bills’ bye week from a sprained elbow he suffered Oct. 14. Allen had been pushing to play and felt ready to go against the Jets before the team opted to hold him out, according to the source.’
Josh Allen expected to return vs. Jaguars after Bills’ bye week
‘The Bills know they don’t need to rush back their franchise quarterback, and it’s more important for Allen to get fully healthy and receive the extra rest that the bye week offers.’
Browns’ coach search brings trepidation after Haslams ignored pleas to hire Sean McDermott last time
‘Sean McDermott, current Bills coach, was the overwhelmingly popular choice by everyone involved in the process. The data they used, as well the other elements of the criteria set up at the start of the process, all pointed to McDermott, a highly-regarded defensive coordinator with Carolina at the time.’
Barkley and the Bills blast the Jets, 41-10
‘It was a rare sight for Bills fans, as the offense racked up a whopping 451 yards, including 212 yards on the ground, as Buffalo destroyed their AFC East rival. It got started early, as the Bills needed only two plays to draw first blood, including a 48-yard completion from Barkley to Robert Foster on the first play of the game. It was only the third time this season that Buffalo scored on their first drive of the game. When Buffalo has scored on their first drive, the Bills are 3-0.’
The Bills and Barkley pull off the unexpected
‘The Bills had outgained Bowles crew by 313 to 68 by halftime. The Jets defense made Barkley look like an All-Pro. The one thing I think that this performance did was seal the fate of Nathan Peterman. Once the quarterbacks are all healthy again, I would think Peterman would be gone. I think Allen and Barkley would be one and two with Derek Anderson staying around to mentor Allen.’
Sal’s Sticks: Bills at Jets
‘For a quarterback to be signed and just twelve days later and right away be inserted into the starting lineup, on arguably the worst offense in the league up to that point, would normally have disaster written all over it. But Barkley was very good, especially early on, and made the Bills’ offense look not only functional, but good. The newly signed signal-caller went 15-for-25 for 232 yards, including a pair of touchdowns passes and no interceptions. In the first half, Barkley went 9-for-15 for 146 yards and touchdown helping the Bills to a 31-3 lead. His 47-yard hookup with Robert Foster on the first play of the game set the tone for the rest of the afternoon.’
Joe B: 7 observations from Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets (11/11/18)
‘Beyond just the surprise of the performance in leading the Bills to a blowout victory, it’s now fair to wonder what’s next for Barkley. Despite it only being a one-game sample size, Barkley showed more in 60 minutes of action than Derek Anderson and Nathan Peterman combined in all of their time on the field.’
Barkley leads Bills to 41-10 win over Jets
‘Foster ended the game with 105 yards and is the first Deonte Thompson to record a 100 yard receiving game, a streak that spanned 19 games.’
Bills Offense Makes Statement, Run Game Gets Going In Blowout Over Jets
‘”It’s like that big monkey’s off my back a little bit,” said McCoy. “But, it’s just one game at a time. We want to go out there and win just that game. It was a lot better today just because of how we’ve been running the ball, and how we’ve been playing against that type of defense, that defense is good so I was shocked in the way we moved it, running the ball.”‘
