‘“LeSean is one of our better players. He had a good game the other day. We’re looking forward to playing the Houston Texans,” McDermott said. “We get incoming calls all the time. Brandon (Beane) and I talk a lot and I won’t go into any more detail than that.”’

‘“I’ve seen a lot of football,” Anderson said. “I’ve been through a lot of ups and downs in my career. Just be a guy that [Allen] can lean on. Something like ask a question, any question, I told him, ‘Bud, I’m here for you. If you need me to go watch a guy, find something special, something you’re unsure of,’ things like that. Obviously the last seven years I was with Cam [Newton], watched him grow. I get really happy when I do something in the week or point something out and he goes out and executes, it’s fun for me.”’

‘“Any leg injury for DBs is tough just because we do so much running,” said Hyde. “We open up the hips and break off of feet and ankles. Leg injuries are tough. So I’m trying to get back, but we’re trying to play it smart. It’s still early in the season and you don’t want to go out there and think you’re loosening it up, but then you end up pulling it or straining it some more. It’s one of those tough injuries.”’

‘“He’s going to come in there and he’s going to say to Brian Daboll and he’s going to say to Sean McDermott, Brandon Beane–he’s going to say to all of them, ‘Hey listen, you tell me what I can do to make this guy better.’ And he’s going to work with Josh Allen, he’s going to be there, he’s going to help him every way he can. And by the way Peterman as well. He’s going to help the whole quarterback room.”’

‘“Once again we saw some young players factor into the win [Sunday], some of whom made big time contributions,” McDermott said. “Matt Milano, Tre’Davious continues to play at a high level in just his second year. Dion (Dawkins) is out there playing at a high level and the rookies that stepped up yesterday. Taron Johnson having another big game for us, making another big play early in the game and Tremaine and Josh. There are some other guys not being mentioned every week. You look at the guys who were ready to play on Sunday. Guy that was called up from the practice squad in Dean Marlowe. Phillip Gaines came in and did a nice job. Credit to the staff and the players in that regard.”’
