Ravens get defensive in 47-3 rout of inept Bills
‘”We need to focus more on the entire team, not just the quarterback,” receiver Zay Jones said. “Offensive line, running backs, wide receivers, defense. We have to do better.”‘
Everything goes wrong for Bills in forgettable 2018 debut
‘While it appears the Ravens have made progress, the Bills have regressed. The offensive line couldn’t protect the quarterbacks, the running backs couldn’t find space to run and Zay Jones was the leading receiver with three catches for 26 yards.’
Flacco hits on all cylinders, Ravens crush Bills
‘Buffalo quarterback Nathan Peterman made his third career start and was under pressure for much of the game. Peterman was just 5 of 18 for 24 yards with a pair of interceptions and had 0.0 passer rating.’
Reports: Bills’ McCoy not expected to face charges
‘The 30-year-old running back and former University of Pittsburgh teammate Tamarcus Porter were sued by McCoy’s ex-girlfriend Delicia Cordon and her friend Elizabeth Donald. The latter two are suing the former pair in connection to a July 10 incident in which Cordon was beaten and robbed of jewelry in what Milton police called a “target” home invasion.’
Bills’ No. 7 pick Josh Allen replaces Nathan Peterman in blowout loss
‘It was the first time Buffalo failed to gain a first down in the first half of any game since at least 2001, while Buffalo’s 33 total offensive yards in the first half were the team’s fewest in any game since they gained 11 against the Miami Dolphins in a December 2003 game.’
Police have no incriminating evidence against LeSean McCoy
‘The NFL’s investigation of the incident, which occurred at a house owned by McCoy, remains under “active review,” according to a source who added that “it is not anywhere near actionable at this time.”‘
Bills torched by Ravens in season opener, 47-3
‘Allen ended his day by throwing 6-of-15 for 74 yards, but he was sacked three times for a loss of 16 yards.’
Worst opening day ever
‘We knew the Bills offense was loaded with questions and bereft of top end talent but woof! I didn’t expect to see, perhaps, the worst half of football I’ve witnessed from any Bills team in the nearly 30 years I’ve watched them. I still can’t believe they went an entire half without getting a single first down. It was the first time a Bills team managed to produce that dubious stat since 2001. They ran 23 plays over eight possessions and totaled just 33 yards.’
The Bills have never been worse on opening day
‘I’ve been watching the NFL for a long time and I have NEVER, EVER seen a quarterback pulled with five minutes gone in the third quarter because the game is already won. The Bills made Joe Flacco look like Tom Brady. They had no answer at all for the three Baltimore tight ends and receivers were open all day. Vontae Davis has been so bad he was inactive. His replacement Phillip Gaines was no better.’
Sal’s Sticks: Bills at Ravens
‘The concerns from the preseason have officially turned to worry. The line was overmatched all afternoon, allowing six sacks of Bills’ QBs Nathan Peterman and Josh Allen, numerous pressures when there wasn’t a sack, not giving any space for the running game, and committing several penalties. It was just a poor performance for the unit all around.’
Bills struggle from the start, fall to Ravens 47-3 in season opener
‘The Bills offense managed just 153 total yards of offense including 70 of those in the air. They only had 10 first downs, all of them coming in the second half.’
Joe B: 7 observations from Buffalo Bills vs. Baltimore Ravens (9/9/18)
‘Now for the second time in three starts in his career, what we ended up witnessing was a quarterback that wilted as the real pressure mounted.’
Peterman benched as Bills struggle in 47-3 loss to Ravens
‘The defense wasn’t much better in the first half, surrendering 233 total yards, 217 by way of Joe Flacco’s arm.’
No Defense for Bills week 1 performance
‘The Bills offense was what fans feared but it’s the defense that should scare fans.’
