‘Peterman completed two more passes before an interception that bounced off the hands of new Bills running back Chris Ivory. But despite the pick, Peterman likely placed himself firmly in the lead in the quarterback battle after a strong practice Monday with the first team.’

‘All in all, Allen wasn’t bad against the Panthers. He showed off his arm multiple times and made impressive plays with his arm and feet. Allen finished 9-of-19 for 116 yards and one touchdown. Considering the offensive line in front of him and the skill players on the field with him, there is much to be encouraged about with Allen’s play. He just wasn’t as impressive as Peterman and McCarron on Thursday night.’

‘I thought we did some good things (in this) first preseason game. It’s nice to see us get off to a good start in the first half. In the second half, (it was kind of) the tale of two halves. The second half, some of our young guys came in and, at times, I thought we shot ourselves in the foot with penalties and some dropped passes and poor fundamentals.’

‘Peterman went 9-for-10 for 119 yards and a 28-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin on the first if his two drives in the game. The big performance comes on the heels of Peterman’s best practice of training camp and should put him firmly in the driver’s seat in the race for the No. 1 quarterback job.’

‘The video shows Newton approach Benjamin has he’s talking with Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis. Davis seems to say, “I thought we were cool” as Newton enters the conversation. Newton bumps into Benjamin and appears to put his hand out for a handshake. After Benjamin refuses to shake his hand, Newton has Davis exit the conversation. The video shows Benjamin walking away from Newton, but the Panthers’ starting quarterback tries to continue the dialogue. After a few shrugs from both parties, the two go their own way.’

‘Although Yahoo Sports’ Anthony Sulla-Heffinger didn’t share the Bills’ overall record, fans would likely be thrilled if his simulation came true. When simulating the entire season, the Bills swept the Offensive Rookie of the Year award and Defensive Rookie of the Year award. No. 7 overall pick Josh Allen took the offensive honors while middle linebacker Tremaine Edmunds won the defensive award.’
