‘”After a rough offseason stuffed with criticism for Buffalo’s lackluster moves on offense, the preseason opener had to be soothing,” he wrote. “(Josh) Allen wasn’t the only Bills draft pick to catch my eye, with third-round defensive tackle Harrison Phillips building on a big camp with a sack. He looks headed for starter snaps. 2016 first-round pick Shaq Lawson looks like a different player with 20 pounds off.”‘

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy named to ESPN Insider’s Fantasy Football Do Not Draft list
‘I curiously have no issue with the consensus top-10 options at this position, even the rookie among them, but then it gets tricky with proven veterans versus new rookies as surefire RB2 choices. The veteran McCoy has indeed aged well and was fantasy’s No. 7 running back last season, but there sure is a mess around him on the rebuilding roster, whether it is at quarterback or offensive line, and certainly, a mess of a different kind surrounds him off the field. McCoy is 30, and when the end comes, it could come quickly. He remains a RB2 call for me, but I am concerned.’
Bills: 5 Takeaways on Buffalo’s first preseason game
‘The “experts” have labeled the Bills as having one of the worst quarterback situations and dullest offenses in all of football — but Buffalo’s offense was downright dynamic throughout Thursday’s game, particularly in the first half. Quarterbacks Nate Peterman and A.J. McCarron combined to complete 16 of 20 passes for 235 yards. Peterman threw an impressive 28-yard TD pass to Kelvin Benjamin, while McCarron conducted two drives that ended with field goals and a touchdown run by Marcus Murphy.’
NFL Preseason: Bills staying focused
‘“From what I’ve seen it’s still a tight competition,” Alexander said following practice. “I think all three quarterbacks played really well in the first week. There’s still a lot more competition that needs to take place, obviously in practice and the next two preseason games. Somebody needs to start separating themselves.’

‘The damages include $133,000 for jewelry that allegedly were stolen from Cordon during the home invasion. According to the suit, the jewelry was bought and insured by McCoy. He allegedly did not provide Cordon with the name of the insurance company, so she had not been able to file a claim to receive the value of the jewelry.’

LeSean McCoy’s ex-girlfriend sues Bills running back, accuses him of beating son, dog
‘The lawsuit Cordon filed Friday in the State Court of Fulton County does not accuse McCoy of playing a role in an attack. But it accuses McCoy and his friend, Tamarcus Porter, of leaving Cordon “and her children defenseless in their own home” when they installed a new security system and cameras in the Milton, Georgia, residence in June and prohibited Cordon from accessing them.’

‘”McCoy’s behavior became erratic during the offseason after the 2016 NFL season,” Cordon’s attorney, Tanya Mitchell Graham, wrote in the complaint. “He would exhibit rage and often brutally beat his dog in the presence of the Plaintiff and her friends. McCoy did not care who was present. When Plaintiff expressed concern about McCoy beating his dog, he would turn his anger against the Plaintiff.”‘

LeSean McCoy sued by Delicia Cordon over July home invasion, attack
‘The civil lawsuit, filed in a Fulton County court, alleges that McCoy should be held financially responsible for Cordon’s injuries because he had previously changed the security codes to the home and refused to provide them to her. As such, Cordon’s suit argues that McCoy “breached his duty to use ordinary care to protect Plaintiff from dangerous activities being conducted at the Residence.”‘

Allen gets more 2nd-team reps; Zay Jones and Jason Croom continue to impress
‘For the first time this training camp, Jones wore a blue jersey like the rest of his offensive teammates. He had been wearing a red non-contact jersey for the past week since returning from his off-season surgery that caused him to miss all of OTAs and minicamp. Jones isn’t just working in, either. He’s looked very sharp since returning to the field, including Monday. He appears confident and focused and has caught every catchable ball thrown his way.’
Reyes: Allen has all the physical tools you want in a QB
‘”Yeah, absolutely. And I think obviously it’s going to depend on whom is the starting quarterback, but with that said, I think you’re absolutely right, John. I think he’s not going to be shy about being innovative and implementing different things. And let’s not forget, Lesean McCoy is obviously a huge part of this offense, and it’s almost like he’s flying under the radar and people aren’t talking about him because everyone’s focused on the quarterbacks, but I think that versatility and his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield—they were working on screen plays today, for example—and I think that’s gonna be a big, big part.”‘
