No nostalgia for two-a-days: Bills’ Lorenzo Alexander says smarter practice lengthened career
‘“I think from a protection standpoint and a care standpoint, it has obviously taken an uptick under the new rules,” Williams said. “We’re trying to preserve guys to get ‘em to perform rather than trying to test ‘em physically for a long time before they go into what ends up being a grueling season. That’s an obvious thing. We’re trying to promote health – and promote guys being healthy heading into the season for a longer period of time.”’
Bills Camp Day 10: Ryan Groy sees time at guard
‘Coach Sean McDermott puts a heavy emphasis on position flexibility, so it’s telling that Groy was inserted with the starters. Miller eventually returned to the field, although he sat out the remaining drills, so his injury did not appear to be serious. If he misses any time, it will be interesting to see if Groy stays in the starting spot.’
Bills QB Watch, Day 10: Nathan Peterman puts on a show
‘Rookie Josh Allen led the third team. He has not taken any starting reps during 11-on-11 work in the past three practices, and he has not been with the second team at all during camp. Allen’s first throw was a beauty, but it was dropped deep down the field by running back Travaris Cadet. On the next play, Rod Streater got his hands on the pass but also couldn’t make the catch. Allen’s next three throws were on target and complete to receiver Austin Proehl, then tight ends Keith Towbridge and Khari Lee. His final attempt was incomplete to rookie Ray-Ray McCloud. It was either a drop or a defender knocked the ball away at the last moment.’
What He Said: Bills GM Brandon Beane on Corey Coleman trade
‘I remember scouting him in college. We actually did a private with him, so I got to know him a little bit [and] his makeup and all of that. It hadn’t worked out in Cleveland, probably the way he thought [when] he was drafted or the way they thought when they drafted him in the first round, so it’s a fresh start for him to come in here and compete. He’s not going to automatically get anything; he’s going to come in here and compete and that’s what we told him on the phone last night. We’ll get him in here today. He still has to pass the physical, though guys before the trade us finalized.’
It’s all about teamwork when Bills and Sabres buy homes
‘”I always call them locker-room trades,” said Maureen Flavin, an agent with Howard Hanna Real Estate Services who has helped a good number of Sabres players buy and sell homes here.’

Roth: Wide receiver shaping up as position of weirdness for Bills
‘“Look, there’s a time and a place, and I’m not talking specifically to the comments that were made, but there’s a time and a place for things like that. This was not one of them,’’ said a perturbed coach Sean McDermott.’
Buffalo Bills training camp day 10: Nathan Peterman shines (7 observations)
‘Peterman said that as camp progresses, it becomes easier to settle into a rhythm as repetitions begin to add up.’

Q&A with Bills QB Nathan Peterman on breakout practice Monday, new offense, more
‘It’s awesome just to have use of all your playmakers. So finding ways to get them the ball and finding the right matchups to make it easier for them, I think that’s going to help us, and we’ll see the results of that.’
Bills counting on Coleman to leave Browns’ baggage behind
‘”We all go through things in life that don’t go our way,” Bills general manager Brandon Beane said Monday, a day after acquiring Coleman in a trade. “I don’t know all what went right or wrong for Corey in Cleveland. But we view it as a fresh start here to earn and compete.”‘

Peterman heats up on Monday
‘Peterman got the bulk of the work with the ones, McCarron with the twos, and rookie Josh Allen was with the third team. It was the third practice in a row that Allen did not take any reps with the starting offense.’
Bills’ Beane thinks Coleman is a low risk proposition
‘“We’ll tell him how we do things here, what the expectations are. Sean and I will sit down with him once he passes a physical and we’ll layout our standard and what we expect. Its low risk and we’ll see what happens.”
