‘McCoy purchased a home in Milton, an Atlanta suburb, in October 2016, and the girlfriend, Delicia Cordon, appears to have moved in with him immediately after, based on her Twitter posts at the time. Since then, police officers have been dispatched to the house at least twice on calls related to disputes between McCoy and Cordon, and a third time when Cordon suspected that McCoy was improperly removing items from the residence, according to police records.’

‘Police also have released three reports of incidents of cops being called to the home for domestic disputes, though there is no evidence of violence in any case. The incidents occurred in July 2017 and April and June 2018.’

‘“My face is demolished right now,” she later added.’

‘Cops responding to the domestic dispute call on July 3, 2017, said they found a “large mound” of clothing piled in the driveway and heard from McCoy that Cordon recently had followed him to Las Vegas and accused him of cheating.’

‘Under the NFL’s personal conduct policy, a player can be placed on paid administrative leave by the league if he is formally charged with a violent crime. The policy defines that as having used physical force or a weapon to injure or threaten another person, having committed a sexual assault, having engaged in animal abuse or having “engaged in other conduct that poses a genuine danger to the safety or well-being of another person.”’

‘Cordon recently had followed him to Las Vegas, McCoy told the officers, and made wild accusations about him cheating on her that she also wrote on social media. McCoy also told the officers that he and his ex-girlfriend had routinely borrowed expensive jewelry from high-end jewelers to wear for special events, and that Cordon had refused to return several items, even though he asked her to do so, repeatedly.’

‘McCoy told police a year ago he was concerned Delicia Cordon might falsely accuse him of domestic violence, documents show. Police records indicate cops had responded to calls at the house they shared in Milton, Georgia, at least three times before Tuesday’s incident.’

‘There is nothing alleged about her injuries. What is alleged is whether McCoy had anything to do with them. He was in Miami when the attack took place at his house in Milton, Ga., so his involvement would have to be secondhand, which is the same in the eyes of the law. An intruder went into the house late at night and demanded specific pieces of jewelry that had been given to Cordon by McCoy, specific pieces of jewelry that McCoy reportedly had previously demanded be returned. How could a random intruder ask for exactly that? It’s a good question, and the only current answer can be found in that court of public opinion. The answer, of course, is that it wasn’t a random intruder.’

‘“The preliminary investigation indicated that this residence was specifically targeted by the suspect or suspects, and not a random incident,” police said in a statement.’

‘Police in Milton are remaining tight-lipped about the early Tuesday morning incident that ended with Delicia Cordon, 34, in a hospital. Cordon is McCoy’s ex-girlfriend. Police have not released information about a suspect, only saying it was a lone intruder.’

‘She tells the dispatcher that a black man wearing a mask and black clothing hit her in the face with a gun, took her jewelry and cash and made her go into the bathroom before he fled the scene. Cordon said he was “a little guy.”’

‘The Jordan Poyer Camp, for children in kindergarten through eighth grade, takes place at CMH Field in Astoria from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. This is the fourth year for Poyer’s camp; it ran from 2014-16, but took last year off because Poyer was unable to attend due to his daughter’s birth.’
