‘But the Bills, players’ union and the league can’t afford to do that, and are right to take a wait-and-see posture.’

Chicken wings and folding tables: Meet new Bills beat reporter Matt Parrino
‘I’m returning to Buffalo after four years in Las Vegas writing and doing video for UFC.com. I bring home a deeper understanding for digital media, and I hope to offer new and exciting content from a fresh perspective.’
LeSean McCoy’s ex-girlfriend ‘absolutely thinks’ he had role in robbery, assault: lawyer
‘”I mentioned that I had a conversation with our client about the ‘criminal burden of proof,’ which is a higher standard than a civil burden of proof, and ‘probably cause’ — legal terms,” she told The Buffalo News. “At this time, there is circumstantial evidence, which is not significant enough probable cause for an arrest; so, I said you can’t blame Mr. McCoy without additional evidence.”‘
Countdown to Bills Camp: The Linebackers
‘The Bills have promise at linebacker. It starts with Edmunds, the exciting rookie with tons of potential to be a key for the defense for years to come. In addition to Edmunds, Milano poised to be a full time starter, but questions will rise about if the 6′, 223 lb. Milano can handle the rigors of being a regular starter. If Milano needs help in the rotation, Humber can take snaps for Milano as well, proving he can be a spot starter in Sean McDermott’s defense. Alexander continues to impress with his capabilities (15.5 sacks in two years with Buffalo) as his career continues on. If the starters, especially Edmunds, can stay healthy, expect more from the linebackers and an improvement on their run defense. They’ll be able to thank the likes of another new addition, defensive tackle Star Lotulelei, for being able to absorb blocks and clear lanes for the linebackers.’
When does Allen start?
‘Sean McDermott being the process oriented guy that he is, I decided to bet on the idea that he and his coaching staff would want to take their time with Allen. You don’t want to rush something this important. How important is giving Allen every chance to be successful to McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane? Well, consider how many guys in their gigs get a second shot at drafting their franchise quarterback. It rarely happens. Fair or not, it usually works like this. Get it right and you’re set for life, or a good 10-15 years. Blow it and nice try, thanks for all you’ve done for the team but we’re going in a different direction.’
Training Camp Preview: Defensive Backs
‘Bills head coach Sean McDermott said, “yeah you do see a nice bond developing between Tre’Davious, to your point, and Vontae; you watch them on the sideline on a knee, talking through the defense, getting a good feel with Micah [Hyde] and Jordan [Poyer] out there as well and then our nicklebacks. You’re starting to see the signs of that moving forward.”‘
Training Camp Preview: Defensive Line
‘”At 35-years old I still enjoy going out there and practicing football and getting after it and competing with the guys and I don’t know if that will ever die, but I’m in a really good place”, Williams said.’
Camp Countdown – No. 7 – Who are the training camp sleepers?
‘WR Robert Foster: The undrafted rookie is a receiver who certainly has the physical skills to make plays, as evidenced by his play in the spring practices. The Alabama product was routinely getting behind defensive backs for big plays during OTAs and minicamp. The question is will it continue when the pads go on. If so, Foster could add a much needed big-play element to Buffalo’s passing game.’
Bills Training Camp Question 9: Will O-line take giant leap backward?
‘Groy and Bodine alternated as the No. 1 center, and there was no clear-cut indication which one has the edge entering training camp. Vlad Ducasse, the starter at right guard for most of last season, spent OTA and mandatory minicamp sessions at left guard, where he has rarely played during eight NFL seasons. John Miller, who Ducasse replaced at right guard in 2017, is still competing to win his starting job back and is being pushed by fifth-round draft pick Wyatt Teller. Free-agent signee Marshall Newhouse spent time at every line spot except center during offseason workouts.’
How the Bills’ front office arrived on Josh Allen as the team’s franchise QB
‘Team owner “Terry (Pegula) was standing by me – we were watching some video of Josh on our iPads – and we’re going through some plays and progressions and things like that, and literally he is grabbing on to try to get back to his seat and we’re bouncing around.”’
The Beane-McDermott Era: What’s in store for the Bills in their second year?
‘“As we got closer and closer, I know for myself and I’m sure for Brandon as well as (team owners) Terry and Kim (Pegula), there was a sense of responsibility as we got closer to that mark to do everything that we could to get there,” McDermott said. “Not that we weren’t before, but there were certain boxes we needed to check, we felt like, for our foundation – to get certain things right in the first year. Winning was one of them, we just didn’t know – you never know – how soon it’s going to happen when you’re trying to get the core of the situation better.”’
Farm to first round: Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen’s long strange trip to the NFL
‘“I had no offers because no one had ever come out of Firebaugh for football,” Allen said. “It’s not what we’re known for, so coaches didn’t get around to seeing much film, coaches didn’t get out to see me in person.”’
Bills’ brass thought Terry Pegula’s private plane was going to crash over Rocky Mountains
‘“We were coming in over the mountains and the plane started just doing like this,” Beane told reporters, using his hands to mimic the bouncing around in the sky that the jet underwent. “Literally, your head was going off the ceiling. Terry was standing by me, we were watching some video of Josh on our iPads, so he’s standing by me and we’re going through some plays and progressions and things like that, and literally he is grabbing on to try to get back to his seat and we’re bouncing around.”’
How Sean McDermott won the Buffalo Bills’ locker room back after starting Nathan Peterman
‘“Sean stood up there and he owned the Tyrod decision,” recalled general manager Brandon Beane. “Now, he didn’t just do that decision; he didn’t just off on a whim do that. There was a lot of in-house conversations about positives, negatives, understanding this is the quarterback, this is not easy, and you’re putting in a rookie. But at the end of the day, he went in there and he owned it to the team.”’
Jim Kelly’s ESPY speech drove Valvano’s message to laugh, think, cry across the goal line
‘In a lifetime of “finest hours,’’ this was his finest. Speaking without notes. Right from the heart. And he was on stage barely six minutes.’
