‘”Accepting me from Texas, that’s awesome,” Castro added. “It just shows you what kind of people live in Buffalo.”‘

Bills Today: McCoy ranked as a top 10 running back
‘Josh Allen will likely enter training camp trailing AJ McCarron and Nathan Peterman in the starting derby, but his time as QB1 is coming. GM Brandon Beane and coach Sean McDermott have preached the value of the process in Buffalo: Long-term sustainability is the ultimate goal. In deciding when to insert Allen — presumably sometime in 2018 — the Bills must weigh the value to be gained through Allen playing early versus the need he has to develop substantially as a player, some of which can be done by viewing the game from the sideline first.’
Bills Position Preview: QB job wide open
‘His progress could very well cause him to move up the depth chart during training camp and the preseason. In the meantime, McCarron and Peterman will try to separate from each other by demonstrating which one has the best grasp of the offense. McCarron might have a modest edge in experience with four career starts, but Peterman made a surge during OTAs and should have something to say about who gets the No. 1 job.’
Bills QB Player Spotlight: Josh Allen’s work in progress
‘He also showed that his arm is far superior than the ones belonging to the two players ahead of him on depth chart: AJ McCarron and Nathan Peterman. That’s what drives the notion that regardless of whatever edge McCarron and Peterman might have in experience — or the media-created narrative that Peterman’s OTA showings might have pushed him into a starting job — Allen has too much physical skill to hold back.’
Naming rights sold for three club areas at New Era Field
‘As part of renovations to the three 200-level sideline clubs, Pegula Sports and Entertainment announced Tuesday naming-rights deals with Dunn Tire, Toyota and Pepsi. Team owners Terry and Kim Pegula are funding the renovations, which are expected to cost $18 million. It’s the first renovation of the three club areas since they were installed in 1999.’
Buffalo Bills QB Nathan Peterman is terrible at football, says Adam Schein
‘”I could not believe my eyes this weekend when I saw a report that Nathan Peterman–yeah, Nathan Peterman–who threw five interceptions in the first half of his first NFL start (was) still in the mix to win the Bills’ starting quarterback job. Wait, what? I mean, first of all, Mike Rodak, who had this story, is a superb reporter. I have a better chance to start in Week 1 for the Buffalo Bills than Nathan Peterman. It’s not going to happen. Mainly because Nathan Peterman is terrible at football.”‘
Buffalo Bills, it’s “nacho” average menu this season
‘All three clubs will provide upgraded, premium concessions options featuring several fan favorites including LaNova Pizza.’
For Harrison Phillips, the NFL was always his why
‘“We both come from goal-setting families.” said Mrs. Phillips. “We would tell the kids for dreams to come true you have to set little goals first and then hopefully as you accomplish those you’ll get to the big one. That’s what we started with, but of course Harrison went right for the big one.”’
Bills Today: Which Bills can help win now and in the future?
‘Benjamin fits Beane’s vision. Handpicked by the general manager, Benjamin has the skill to contribute now and the potential to be an elite receiver for years to come.’
Phillip Gaines takes early lead in Bills’ nickel cornerback competition
‘“He played in a good defensive system in Kansas City,” Bills coach Sean McDermott said of Gaines. “He’s played outside as well, so he offers some position flexibility. He’s long. He’s got some experience there, so he’s a smart player that I’ve been impressed with to this point. We’ll see how that position unfolds at camp.”’
Josh Allen timeline named Buffalo Bills’ biggest roster decision by ESPN Insider
‘Deciding when to play Allen will be one of the Bills’ biggest storylines year so it’s no surprise that ESPN Insider’s Field Yates named Josh Allen’s timeline as Buffalo’s biggest roster decision.’
Buffalo Bills 53-man roster projection: Post-minicamp edition
‘Despite not making the cut in this version of NYUP’s 53-man roster, Andre Holmes, Brandon Reilly and Austin Proehl could all find themselves on the right side of the roster bubble with a strong training camp.’
TCU Power Index: Jerry Hughes has been on leading edge for two winning teams
‘Hughes was a consensus All-American in 2008 and 2009 and led TCU to a combined 23-3 record in his last two seasons. In his senior year, Hughes led the Frogs with 16.5 tackles for a loss, including 11.5 sacks and helped lead TCU to the Fiesta Bowl, the school’s first BCS game. His legacy remains strong in the TCU program and after helping the Bills back to the playoffs after a 17-year drought his professional career continues stronger than ever.’
Next up for Shady: 12,000 yards…..and more winning
‘“It’s weird, because every year, not that I didn’t expect to get this far, it’s just I look at backs like Frank Gore, there’s not a lot of them,” McCoy said. “There’s not a lot of guys out there. I want to chase that and be one of those guys. I hang out with them in the offseason, a lot of the running backs like the [Todd] Gurleys, and the [Le’Veon] Bells, the way they view me is like the ‘old head baller’. It drives me. It does, because I remember being 25, 24, looking at the older guys, saying ‘I’m going to catch him, I want to be better than him’. Now, it’s like reversed. Now it’s like, ‘okay, I’m still an elite player, but the young guys are creeping on me,’ so I’ve got to continue to do better and do better. Stack my numbers up, stack my wins up. Just make that portfolio of just a baller. A solid career.”’
Bills’ Dawkins thinks the new offensive line is coming together
‘“We have to continue to go through and get to know one another and understand where one another has come from and our backgrounds respectively and build this team, bringing it together. That’ll happen over the course of time as you go through moments like training camp and where we get a chance to get away a little bit in fellowship with one another on and off the field.”‘
