‘I think the biggest thing, and I don’t know if I learned it, but it probably was reaffirmed, but this is so much about people. I was fortunate in my first season to be around some great people in our building in our community. Our fans, what more can you say? I know I’m biased but I think we’ve got the best fans in the NFL. My process will continue to unfold. I’ll continue to learn and grow. I think we have to embrace that growth mindset as a building, as a team, and as an organization. I’m confident we’ll do that.’

Brandon Beane Q&A: Bills GM on new CB, ransoms, combine
‘Today is Day One. We just got out of height-weight, watching these guys get measured. We had some interviews last night. It’s really important the medical, which is what this started as. This is the first time our doctors and trainers can get their hands on these guys, which is a big part of the process. Now we can talk to some more guys. We met some of the players at the Senior Bowl, East-West and the NFLPA Game. But the juniors obviously we couldn’t do that. So now we can talk to some of those guys.’
As NFL scouting combine begins, Tyrod Taylor remains the hottest topic for the Bills
‘Still, as it always is with the Bills, quarterback was a hot topic and both men did their best to answer in non-answers.’
What Buffalo Bills’ Brandon Beane, Sean McDermott said about Lamar Jackson
‘”He is a special athlete,” Beane said. “He really is. I understand why people say (he should switch to wide receiver) because they’ve seen guys convert that are special athletes. I still think he’s going to get a chance to prove that he can play quarterback. I think he’s earned that right. He won the Heisman doing that. I think he’s going to get every chance to prove that before he ever looks at a position change.”‘
Why Brandon Beane, Sean McDermott added Vontae Davis to Buffalo Bills
‘”Let’s start off by first giving Brandon and his staff the credit to be able to land a free agent like Vontae at this time of year,” McDermott said at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. “It has a lot of benefit, which have been talked about already. He’s a veteran player who fits into our system. He has a number of starts obviously and ball production. That said, every spot on our roster has to be earned and he’ll embrace that mindset.”‘
NFL Combine: Buffalo Bills GM Brandon Beane looking forward to meeting Josh Rosen
‘Rosen’s personality has been a topic of conversation since he was in high school. Trent Dilfer once said Rosen needs to learn to be more coachable. Rosen has made comments about how school and football don’t mix. He cares about social issues and isn’t afraid to voice his opinions. His personality is one that won’t mesh with every NFL team.’
NFL Combine 2018: What Buffalo Bills said (and didn’t say) about Tyrod Taylor
‘”We’re happy with where we’re at with Tyrod and Nathan (Peterman) until we decide differently,” Beane said.’
NaVorro Bowman named free agent Buffalo Bills should sign by ESPN Insider
‘A surprise playoff team in 2017, the Bills can’t afford to rest on their laurels if they want to return in 2018. Linebacker Preston Brown is slated to become a free agent, and if he does indeed depart, they could do a lot worse than look at the veteran Bowman. PFF’s 11th-highest-graded linebacker in 2017, Bowman registered 33 tackles against the run after joining the Raiders midway through the 2017, with 20 of those resulting in a defensive stop.’
Regardless of QB, expect LeSean McCoy to continue as Bills’ focal point
‘“You’ve got to be able to run the football,” Buffalo GM Brandon Beane said when discussing the running back position. “The league has obviously become more of a passing league than what we grew up watching. But you still have to be able to run the ball on third and 1, fourth and 1, what we call four-minute football to close out games. It’s important. If you stick your passer back there all day, your linemen don’t like it and your quarterback’s going to get hit. We see what happens when your quarterback gets hurt and is out. It’s hard enough to get one, much less have a solid backup.”’
5 takeaways from Sean McDermott’s press conference at the NFL Combine
‘Also on Davis, per his Instagram account, it looks like he wants to wear number-22 with the Bills.’
5 takeaways from Brandon Beane’s press conference at the NFL Combine
‘At this point, it doesn’t sound like Beane is overly-optimistic about moving up. Having said that, Beane said there are some quarterbacks, as of Wednesday morning, he hasn’t even met yet, signalling a lot can change between now and the draft in late April. Additionally, in terms of talking to other teams about trading up, Beane said “I haven’t really gotten into deep discussions yet.”’
Tyrod Taylor absolutely for sure is Bills’ QB – um, for now
‘But as any discerning viewer of NFL games can attest, whenever the Bills have most needed Taylor to snatch a late victory from defeat with his passing, or succeed as a passer when the Buffalo run game has stalled, he has mostly failed.’
Bills noncommittal about status of former Ravens backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor
‘“Tyrod now can add to his resume that he helped and was instrumental in getting us to the playoffs and breaking a 17-year drought. You’ve heard me say it before — his work ethic and his intangibles are unmatched, and his leadership that goes along with the position,” McDermott said on the first day of the NFL scouting combine. “We’re still going through that process. We’re in a good position with some options out there. That will work itself out.”’
The Latest: Bills coach rules out cutting QB Tyrod Taylor
‘McDermott says it’s too early to remove any option off the table “other than cutting him at this point,” in answering a question as to whether the Bills would consider trading Taylor. “We’re in a good position with some options out there, so that’ll work itself out,” he added at the NFL combine on Wednesday.’
Releasing Tyrod Taylor ‘not in our plans,’ Bills coach says
‘”Tyrod is a good player,” McDermott said. “At this point in the process, I’ve learned being around this league around 20 years, it’s way too early to take anything off the table, other than cutting him at this point, which is not in our plans.”‘
