‘“Yeah, I think that’s the expectation,” Bodine said when asked if it would be a battle between himself and Groy. “I have a lot of respect for Ryan [Groy] and what he did at the tail end of that year. He certainly looks like a good player. That being said, I’m trying to play too, you know? So obviously we’ll have to figure out how that goes. We’ll see.”’

‘“Yeah, I absolutely believe that,” Bodine said on McCarron’s ability to be a starter. “Just talking to him, he’s excited about the opportunity. If you remember that little streak we played, that he played, a few years ago. We had all but won a playoff game with him as our quarterback. We go down and we fumble at the end of the game, driving to basically run [the clock] out. And go and have a few defensive penalties and I’m sure everyone remembers or can look up that kind of meltdown we had against the Steelers (18-16 loss).’

‘“Obviously I talked to Jerry [Hughes]. He’s been [in Buffalo] and we’ve been friends since 2006 when we were freshmen at TCU. He’s always spoken highly of ownership, and more specifically the new staff here, so Buffalo was definently on my radar. And then taking my visit, touring the facility, seeing their vision, and their culture and what they’re looking to do, that was a big factor as well,” he said.’

‘Humber played in 13 games last season for the Bills, having joined the team two offseasons ago. Humber was named a starting outside linebacker but only made nine starts, having been replaced by rookie fifth-round pick Matt Milano. Humber had one forced fumble, one pass defended, one sack, and 59 solo tackles.’

‘Dansby, 36, played for the Arizona Cardinals in 2017, recording 95 total tackles, a sack, and interception.’

‘“Right now, the teams have reached out, it’s probably like 10 teams: the Bears, the Bills, Saints, Texans, Jets, Raiders, Panthers, there’s a couple of other teams,” Hurns said. “I should be hearing more soon.”’
