3 things to know about Colts coaching candidate Leslie Frazier
‘Frazier and Dungy have always been close. After his playing career ended and he decided to enter the coaching ranks, he immediately modeled his style after Dungy.’
AP source: Colts seek permission to interview Bills’ Frazier
‘Frazier has spent the past 19 seasons coaching at the NFL level, including a three-plus year stint as head coach of the Minnesota Vikings from 2010-13.’
Buffalo Bills: What went right, what went wrong
‘Offensively, the Bills have been held back by their remedial passing game, and Taylor had a large role in that for three years. However, he’s not solely to blame because, particularly this year, he had almost no help from a lackluster group of wide receivers, and an offensive coordinator who didn’t always put him in the best situations to succeed.’
Reports: Colts request to interview Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier for head coaching job
‘The 58-year old Frazier was worked for the Colts in 2005 as a defensive assistant and 2006 as their assistant head coach and defensive backs coach.’
2017 Buffalo Bills All-22 in Review: Linebackers
‘A fifth-round rookie, Milano took to Sean McDermott’s defensive scheme like a fish to water. Milano has the required athleticism and was flying all over the field. He played with great recognition ability, and diagnosed plays quickly enough to react and make a difference. And, he wasn’t a liability in coverage — as opposed to the three men that had been starting. The Bills didn’t go #FullMilano until after a few weeks of having Humber back in the lineup, and then the natural shift occurred. He is plugged in as a starting outside linebacker for the foreseeable future, and as one of the best defenders on the team last season, it’s looking like they found themselves a big-time steal in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.’
Bills Life: Shady’s off to Brazil!
‘Running back LeSean McCoy is taking full advantage of this year’s offseason, utilizing his downtime to see the world. After a quick stop home following the Pro Bowl, Shady left for his next adventure, bringing friends along this time as well. The group which includes current Bills tackle Dion Dawkins, running back Taiwan Jones and former Bills fullback Jerome Felton, have made their way down to Brazil. So far, they’ve had the opportunity to visit a few tourist spots and will continue to sightsee throughout the rest of the week. To follow along, visit LeSean McCoy’s Instagram and Twitter pages.’
Bills Today: Bills bolster ‘D’ in McShay’s latest mock
‘In Todd McShay’s 2018 NFL Mock Draft 2.0, he has Buffalo bringing in two defensive players from Alabama. McShay’s projection is that the Bills pick linebacker Rashaan Evans with the 21st overall pick. He then has Buffalo selecting defensive lineman Da’Ron Payne at No. 22.’
Coordinator changes dominate AFC East coaching moves
‘The run game will incorporate more gap and power-oriented blocking, with a straightforward push being preferred more often to the wide-zone approach that Dennison brought from the coaching lineage of Mike Shanahan and Alex Gibbs, an O-line coach with whom Dennison worked on Shanahan’s staff. The Bills are also expected to utilize run-pass option (or RPO) plays that are steadily finding their way into the NFL from the college ranks and with which Daboll had success in his previous job as offensive coordinator at the University of Alabama.’
Chad Reuter 2018 NFL Mock Draft: Buffalo Bills draft Lamar Jackson, keep Tyrod Taylor
‘Jackson saw plenty of playing time during his collegiate career at Louisville. The quarterback completed 57 percent of his passes for 9,043 yards, 69 touchdowns and 27 interceptions. Jackson also ran for 4,132 yards and 50 touchdowns in three seasons. Both Jackson and Taylor bring athleticism to the position and Jackson could learn plenty from Taylor.’
Last dozen defensive players the Buffalo Bills have selected in the first round
‘While the Bills defense in 2017 was undoubtedly the stronger of the two compared to the offense, that doesn’t mean there aren’t needs. Buffalo has a recent history of strong first-round defensive picks, but here’s a look at the last 12 defensive selections in the first round by the Bills…’.
2017 Buffalo Bills All-22 in Review: Guards/Centers
‘It was another Pro Bowl year for Richie Incognito, who was one of the lone representatives in the game for the team.’
Tag game fast approaching for NFL clubs
‘NFL clubs can make use of the tag starting Feb. 20th.’
Bills Today: Bills move up to No. 2 in mock draft
‘A year ago, the Bills were considering moving up in the draft for quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. Their new management and coaching staff in place this year could look for a similar move for Josh Rosen, a quarterback in whom they have shown substantial interest. Both of their first-round picks this year and a 2019 early round pick should be enough, and the Giants can move back and remain in win-now mode.’
Bills bound to follow Eagles’ lead in adding RPOs to attack
‘The Eagles ranked No. 1 in the NFL regular season by using RPOs on 181 plays (17 percent), according to Pro Football Focus. The Bills called only 20 RPOs, which amounted to 2 percent of their plays and ranked 27th in the NFL, according to PFF.’
