‘Buffalo has $18.68 million in dead money, tops in the NFL, according to Spotrac. Dead money is cap space being taken up by players no longer on the roster. Dareus still counts $14.2 million against the Bills in 2018. San Francisco is second in dead money at $15 million, and only five teams currently have more than $10 million in dead money.’

Levy says Reich a ‘fortunate pick’ as Colts head coach
‘”He’s a wonderful teacher, outstanding citizen and teammate, works well with people in the organization,” Levy said of Reich. “I just think it’s a fortunate pick for the Colts.”‘
Jerry Sullivan: Frank Reich, the perfect backup plan
‘But Reich always struck me as a guy who would be suited to coaching. Jim Kelly had a native mentality for quarterback play, an ability to think quickly under duress. But Reich was the brains behind the Hall of Famer, a dutiful backup who was a de facto coach as a player.’
Where are they now? Bills offensive lineman Jerry Ostroski is back in Tulsa
‘I pay quite a bit of attention (to the Bills). My oldest boy, Jackson, is a senior in high school, and he was born in Buffalo. So he’s still a huge Bills fan because he considers himself a Buffalonian, I guess you could say. It was pretty crazy.’
Roth: A Colts’ comeback rests in hands of Frank Reich, who knows a thing or two about that
‘There are few professional athletes I’ve encountered as classy, sincere, humble and strong as Reich. A man who leans on his faith. Who knows how to get up when life dishes out a sack.’
NFL coaches by age: Where do new hires rank? Sean McDermott now 7th-youngest
‘Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott is among the youngest coaches. At the age of 43, he ranks as the seventh-youngest coach. Only six coaches are younger: Matt Patricia of the Detroit Lions (43), Mike Vrabel of the Tennessee Titans (42), Adam Gase of the Miami Dolphins (39), Matt Nagy of the Chicago Bears (39), Kyle Shanahan (38) of the San Francisco 49ers and McVay (32).’
2018 NFL Draft: Sam Darnold highlights, scouting report and fit with Buffalo Bills
‘It’s tough to talk about Darnold before recognizing his mechanical flaws as a passer. His throwing motion jumps out immediately, as he drops the ball and has more of an elongated, windup motion than most would consider ideal. His footwork is also an issue. he’s not often setting his feet before he throws and occasionally gets caught throwing with his feet parallel to the line of scrimmage rather than lined up with his intended target. What’s great about Darnold, however, is his ability to throw accurately despite these issues.’
2018 NFL Mock Draft: Rotoworld predicts Buffalo Bills beef up line of scrimmage
‘So it makes sense that plenty of NFL Draft analysts expect the Bills to address those issues in the 2018 NFL Draft. The latest prediction comes from Rotoworld’s Josh Norris, who released a new mock draft on Monday. In it, the Bills address both the offensive and defensive lines.’
Reich hired as Colts’ head coach
‘The Colts’ Twitter account had some fun with the situation Sunday, making fun at their own expense by tweeting out pictures of Reich actually signing the contract and then standing next to owner Jim Irsay while holding the newspaper to prove the date of the photo.’
Bills Free Agency: Gaines highlights three CBs set to become UFAs
‘Gaines may be the toughest decision and situation facing the Bills as far as their own free agents this offseason. They were a much better defense and overall team when he played last year. His presence allowed others to play more natural positions and the defense to play more diverse coverages. In fact, the Bills were 8-3 in games Gaines started. They were 1-4 in games he didn’t. But that’s where the issue comes in. Gaines, acquired by the team in a trade for WR Sammy Watkins during the preseason, missed five games with injuries. He also left three other games with injuries. That’s half the games the Bills played that Gaines either got hurt during the game and didn’t finish, or didn’t play at all.’
2017 Buffalo Bills All-22 in Review: Defensive Tackles
‘In his second season since being drafted, former third-round pick Adolphus Washington did many of the same things he did in his rookie year. He battled some fairly inconsistent play, but then flashed incredible ability at least once or twice a game — a frustrating conundrum for positional coaches to try and figure out how to unearth that more consistently.’
NFL dates to watch for Bills
‘Feb. 13th – Beginning at 12 pm ET, NFL clubs may begin to sign players whose 2017 CFL contracts have expired. Players under contract to a CFL clubs for the 2018 season or have an option for the 2018 season are not eligible.’
Bills Today: Frank Reich Inks Five-Year Deal with Colts
‘Reich’s first six seasons (2006-2011) coaching in the league were coincidentally with the Colts. He served as an intern for two years (2006-2007) and then as an offensive assistant for the next four (2008-2011). His next pit stop was in 2012 as the Arizona Cardinals wide receivers coach. He then went out to San Diego and spent one season (2013) as the team’s quarterbacks coach and two seasons (2014-2015) as their offensive coordinator. Reich most recently wrapped up a two-year stint (2016-2017) as the Philadelphia Eagles OC.’
Eric Wood says he feels good, describes future as ‘on the wait and see’
‘Wood has a neck injury that will not allow him to play football again, but he has not officially announced his retirement as he and the Bills work out an arrangement regarding the remaining portion of his signing bonus from an extension he signed last August and the salary cap ramifications.’
Voice of the Fan: Why Bills fans should be happy for Eagles’ Super Bowl victory
‘But mostly we are happy that the Patriots lost. It’s not as good as a Buffalo win, but Shadenfreude is like authentic, ice cold, freshly brewed Oktoberfest beer.’
