Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy carted off in 3rd quarter vs. Dolphins

‘And then, LeSean McCoy went down with an ankle injury at the beginning of the third quarter in which his teammates immediately called for athletic trainers to attend to the star running back. Upon evaluation the Bills staff called for a cart for the runner, and they loaded him up and immediately took him to the locker room.’

Joe B: The drought is over, Bills fans

‘For those of you in Buffalo (and outside of Buffalo, really) that have lived through the Bills, breathed every bit of information, scalded them for all of the missteps through the past 17 years — it all washed away after Andy Dalton hit Tyler Boyd for a Week 17 touchdown that none of you are sure to forget.’

Bills end 17-year playoff drought with help and 22-16 win over Dolphins

‘Buffalo had two scenarios and a 12% chance to make the playoffs when Sunday began. They won over the Dolphins and the Ravens shockingy fell to the Bengals.’

Pitoniak: This is NOT a misprint: The Bills are playoff-bound for the first time in 17 seasons

‘But what happened Sunday was highly improbable, and, finally, after cycling through 10 head coaches, a busload of draft and free agent busts and a generation of heartbreaking losses, the Bills are – drum roll, please – going to the playoffs for the first time since Bill Clinton was in the Oval Office.’

The drought is over! Bills qualify for playoffs with 22-16 win over Dolphins

‘Buffalo held off the Miami Dolphins 22-16, then watched as Baltimore gave up a 49 yard touchdown on 4th and 12, turning a three point lead into a four point loss.’

Bills earn six-seed, will play at 3-seed Jacksonville Sunday, January 6 at 1 pm

‘Buffalo earned the six-seed with a 22-16 win over Miami and a 31-27 loss by the Ravens to the Bengals. The Jacksonville Jaguars lost to the Tennessee Titans 15-10 in their finale, but were already locked in as the number three seed in the AFC.’

Rick Zamperin: Buffalo’s NFL playoff drought mercifully comes to an end

‘Happy New Year Buffalo, you’re going to the playoffs.’

Bills beat Dolphins; advance to playoffs

‘Buffalo then got the help they needed with a dramatic comeback victory by the Cincinnati Bengals over the Baltimore Ravens, allowing the Bills to qualify for their first postseason in 17 seasons.’

LeSean McCoy’s injury to undergo further evaluation

‘“It was definitely concerning, because he’s a big part of our offense. But we didn’t know how severe the injury was. Any time you see a guy get carted off you think the worst,” said quarterback Tyrod Taylor. “Hopefully it’s not as bad and he’ll be able to get back, whether it’s this week or in a couple weeks. We’ll definitely go out there and pick up the slack for him.”’

What they’re saying: Bills react to first playoff berth in 17 seasons

‘“Opening up, really I just want to praise God, number one. It was a heck of a year. He continues to bless us, and thank the Cincinnati Bengals as well and (Head Coach) Marvin Lewis. Really, just all the sacrifice that goes into this on the players’ behalf, on everyone involved in the building back in Buffalo, for all of our fans, all the families involved, all the sacrifices that have gone into this, I can’t thank everyone enough. Congratulations to everyone. It’s been a long time coming and the best part is we’re building. I’m just happy to be a part of it. Also, I want to say congratulations to Kyle Williams. He’s worked, he’s sweated, he’s bled and he’s put his heart and soul into this city and this team, and I couldn’t be any prouder for him at this moment. Really our players and our fans, just congratulations. I’m just happy to be a part of it.”’

Pegula pleased it all came together for his team

‘“All you had to do is see (Team President) Russ Brandon after the game,” Pegula said. “We were in the coaches office after the game and Russ lost it. I felt so good for him because he had been here for the long drought.”’

What you need to know about the Bills being in the playoffs

‘The Bills and Jaguars will square off on Sunday at 1 pm.’

Deonte Thompson active for today’s game

‘Thompson’s ability to stretch the field will be important against a Dolphins defense that ranks 29th in surrendering plays of 20 yards or more (68). He had two of the longest plays of the game last week in New England with receptions of 46 and 33 yards.’

Bills Today: Week 17 win would be a happy birthday for Hyde

‘“I’m sure it’d mean everything to him. I know he’s going to say it’d mean everything to this team. It’s just the guy he is,” said Poyer. “But yeah of course, it’s your birthday, to get a win on your birthday, can’t go wrong with that.”‘
