Micah Hyde: A brotherly bond tested
‘“They usually didn’t want Micah around,” said his mother, Pamela Moore. “He would go back out after I would calm him down. He was really competitive, so he would go and play again. I think sometimes they would get irritated with him because he would always try to keep up.”’

Bills Today: Shady set to secure 10K mark on Sunday
‘“It’s kind of hard to look at my career right now. We’re still in the playoff hunt. We need big wins to have a shot,” said McCoy. “I think after the season I can really reflect and look at my career and the 10,000-yard mark.”’
Pollock: Bills’ coordinators were tested in ‘worst weather’
‘“We had to go through the concourse with all the fans,” Dennison said. “It was a rough deal, because the golf carts couldn’t go. Once you make a decision (on being in the booth), I don’t think you can change the sideline to quarterback (communication). I had to go back up no matter what. I missed the kickoff and the first play of the defense (in the third quarter) because we were kind of stuck going up there.”’
McDermott calls Cutler ‘one of the top quarterbacks around the league’
‘“Strong arm, extremely versatile in what he can do,” McDermott said of the QB in that game not named Tom Brady. “Obviously, (he’s) moving with the ball in his hands, (he has good footwork) in the pocket and great vision for the field and pinpoint accuracy. He’s as good as there are out there, and you saw that Monday night.”‘
Bills recovering from snowy game: It was ‘like running on the beach in sand’
‘As a California native, Alexander said he doesn’t want to see a repeat of Sunday’s arctic-esque terrain despite the positives he listed. There’s a chance he’ll never see a game like that again in his career, but the Bills will likely face a different weather challenge this week against Miami — freezing rain. The Weather Channel projects temperatures in the mid-30s and a 50 percent chance of precipitation in Orchard Park.’

Jerry Sullivan: In league of bad QBs, still no room for Kaepernick
‘Taylor and Cutler aren’t appreciably better than Kaepernick, and neither is likely to be with his team next season. McDermott benched Taylor a few weeks ago and seems ready to move on from him. Cutler had retired and graduated to an announcing job with Fox before signing a one-year deal with Miami when Ryan Tannehill went down for the year in August.’
Bills Notebook: Williams wants to avoid ‘distraction’ of possible final home appearance
‘”He pretty much gets everything set for us,” defensive end Jerry Hughes said. “Whenever the game is going on, he’s getting all the information for us. He’s our quarterback up front. He’s our leader (and) he gets us all set up. I know he’s been playing for quite a while now, but just an amazing guy, an amazing teammate. The way he works, his work ethic, how he’s always here looking at film, dissecting things. He takes the game very seriously, and I think that’s great for our room, to have somebody like that to be in there.”‘
