‘“Here, one of the things about our team, we just try to control the things we can control. We can’t control if they went 6-0 or 12-0 we just have to work on what we can do,” rookie defensive end Eddie Yarbrough said. “We’re going to put our best foot forward and give them the best shot we’ve got. We’re excited and confident, but we know they’re going to a challenge.”’

Bills introduce Kelvin Benjamin, WR says he “wasn’t surprised” he was traded
‘“To tell you the truth, I wasn’t really surprised. I could kind of feel that the offense was going in another direction,” Benjamin said.’
Shaq Lawson says teams get ball out faster vs. Bills than other teams
‘“I mean last week they were getting the ball out in 1.8-something every play. You watch the same teams we’re playing against and they’re playing against another D-Line and they’re holding the ball. I mean, I know people, a lot of fans, think we’re not getting the pressure, but they don’t understand that the ball is coming out hot so it’s kind of hard to get there if the ball is coming out fast.”‘
Benjamin puts Panthers in his past in making move to Buffalo
‘“I just want to be a better person, man, a better player, better teammate, holding myself to a higher standard,” Benjamin said. “At the end of the day, I’m here, I’m happy, I’m excited. Right now just moving forward.”’
Kelvin Benjamin ‘wasn’t really surprised’ by trade from Panthers
‘”But this is a great opportunity for me. I’m excited — brand-new city, brand-new team. When I got here, man, they had open arms. I’m loving it. I’m excited.”‘
Kelvin Benjamin unphased by trade to the Bills, understood offensive changes
‘Benjamin was drafted by the Panthers in the first round of the 2014 draft, a stacked receiver class that has had several pass-catchers relocated. Sammy Watkins went from the Bills to the Rams, Brandin Cooks from the Saints to the Patriots and, of course, Benjamin’s move to Buffalo. Of the five receivers selected in the first round in that draft, only Mike Evans and Odell Beckham Jr. have remained with their original teams.’
Benjamin had already liked a lot about Buffalo
‘“I didn’t know a lot about it,” Benjamin said Monday after practice. “But as soon as I got traded, I hit Joe Webb up, and Joe Webb was like ‘man, you’re going to love it man, you’re going to love it, the people, the fans, the college-based atmosphere.’ You watch the games, don’t matter how cold it is or what their record was in the past. The stadium was packed. That has to tell you something. That history, that passion, and that’s what I am.”’
No reason for Bills fans to panic…..yet
‘Typically when we go into the season we try and figure out how to get the Bills to 10 wins. Its a win total that can usually get you into the post season. Good news Bills fans, you might only have to get them to nine this season thanks to the less than spectacular AFC. According to the New York Times playoff machine, if the Bills beat the Chargers, Colts and sweep Miami and finish with a 9-7 record, they have a 75% chance of getting into the playoffs.’
Who are you?
‘Road games with the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs follow that, and then it’s the New England Patriots at home. If you want to get the Bills to 10 wins, I think you need to split these four games. That leaves you with the Colts at home, a road rematch with the Patriots and your two games with the Miami Dolphins. Obviously if nine wins does the trick for the playoffs, and it might, this isn’t quite as daunting.’
Sean McDermott excited to see Benjamin play
‘”I thought it was important for Kelvin to get in and have more than a day or to to learn some of the playbook. I knew Carolina did not have their bye yet, wanted a fresh Kelvin Benjamin moving forward. The guys on this team have gone out of their way to make Kelvin comfortable.”‘
Eric Wood: “Up front we didn’t play our best”
‘”We missed an opportunity, we’re very upset, but we can’t let that hurt our direction, we’re still 5-3. The Jets beat us at our own game, they ran the ball well, we turned the ball over… this is how we beat people”‘
New season, same Taylor, and that’s OK
‘Moving on… Taylor is Taylor. This 2017 version is the same football-protecting, conservative-passing, occasional-jaw-dropping, playmaker the Bills have had for going on three seasons now.’
Joe B: 5 Buffalo Bills practice notes (11/6/17)
‘Glenn had to sit out of Monday’s practice due to soreness in both his ankle and foot. The ankle injury is on his left leg, while the foot — when it was last explained to us, was the right one. Now, it’s important to not overreact based on some non-activity on a Monday during the week because teams don’t normally practice on Mondays.’
McDermott Monday
‘Well, I’ll start off: a team is never made up of just one guy, so let’s get over that. Let’s get past that. He will integrate into what we’re doing and add to what we’re doing. We’ve got good players already in this building and we were able to add another good player with Kelvin so I expect him to embed into what we’re doing and work on being A. a good teammate and B. learning the system.’
Benjamin already feeling at home in Buffalo
‘“Once I came over I talked about the Bills (to Benjamin),” said Webb, who was signed by Buffalo the Monday before the season opener. “I told him that I love it here and if he was here he’d love it too. And look what happened. He got here and I took him through the city and he loved Buffalo. So he got settled in pretty good.”‘
