Saints march over Buffalo Bills: 2 reasons to be encouraged, 6 reasons to worry
‘Tyrod Taylor has to give his wide receivers a chance to make a play. The quarterback only completed one pass to a wide receiver on Sunday and it came on the first drive of the game. Buffalo’s wide receivers struggle to create separation, but Taylor isn’t giving the receivers many opportunities to make contested catches. The quarterback also needs to stop dropping passes off well short of the line to gain on third down plays.’
McDermott backs Tyrod, says run defense is “not acceptable at all”
‘“You have to own what we did do well and didn’t do well,” McDermott said. “On the field, the effort was there. It’s fundamentals and techniques.”’
Bills coach McDermott remains upbeat after team’s latest dud
‘”We take what happened yesterday seriously and you have to learn from it but not get too far down on yourselves and lose confidence,” he added, referring to a 47-10 loss to New Orleans. “The five wins didn’t happen by mistake.”‘
Bills as bad as could be in Sunday loss
‘”We’ve got a certain standard; that wasn’t up to our standard,” head coach Sean McDermott said. “Today was not indicative of the standard that we’ve set for ourselves. They beat us. Give them a ton of credit. I’ve got to coach better, we’ve got to play better, that’s the obvious. That was not what we expected.”‘

Sean McDermott is confident in his run defense
‘”You don’t want to kill the patient. You want to attack the problem. Until we show we’re better than that, like we did in the 5 wins, we have some work to do. Biggest thing is we need to play better fundamentally.”‘
Eric Wood: “Yesterday was about as bad as it gets”
‘”It’s frustrating. I have confidence in our guys, that hasn’t changed. We can’t go in the tank at this point, a lot of football ahead of us. Still 5-4. Focus needs to be on getting back to fundamentals, and beating the Chargers.”‘

McDermott Monday
‘The Bills have suffered back-to-back ugly losses but McDermott is quick to point out that there’s a long way to go, “Well we’re 5-4. Big picture perspective at this point says we’re in the playoff hunt. Right now, I’m not concerned about that at all. I believe in the men in that locker room. I’m excited about where we’re going. This is our first year together, so you have to keep things in perspective.”’
