‘Donald Jones: If the playoff started this week the Bills would be in the playoffs. Right now they hold the sixth spot and control their own destiny. The rest of their games are against AFC opponents (including four divisional games). They must play much better than they have the last two weeks in order to reach the postseason. The Bills are 4-1 at home this year and have three games still to play at New Era Field. I expect them to get back to the formula of playing well at home and find a way to pull out a couple of road wins in order to find themselves in it at the end.’

Bills Today: Why Benjamin’s targets decreased after first drive
‘“They started changing their two safety coverages, try to protect the guy on him I guess,” he said. “We tried to work some high-level levels with him and somebody underneath him and they kept dropping underneath. It’s up to me to get him in the right spot to get him the targets and catches.”’
Bills wondering how to correct what happened
‘Outside linebacker Lorenzo Alexander, at 34 the Bills oldest player, conceded, “I don’t have (an) answer as far as what we can do. We’ve just got to be professionals, correct (the mistakes) and have a better total effort defensively the next game.” To which Brown added, “We have to change something (but) I’m not sure what that is right now.” And maybe that’s the most troubling takeaway from Sunday’s loss.’
Sean McDermott keeping big-picture perspective despite back-to-back blowout losses
‘”This is the growing pains you go through when you come in, and try and get things going the right way. Like I told you before, I knew it wasn’t going to be easy in the first year. Right now, we had two games back-to-back that wasn’t up to our standard, and sometimes that happens as you’re going through this process. There’s pain in the process also. That doesn’t make it easy, it’s just means you have to work through it.”‘
Where’s Marcell? Bills coach McDermott said run-defense struggles can’t be put on Dareus trade
‘“When you look at the tape from yesterday’s ballgame, it’s purely us not being where we needed to be on certain occasions,” Frazier said. “Our tackling was’t bad, it was much better than the week before, but being in and out of our gaps was a big problem. We played a lot of eight-man front yesterday, which means you think you’re going to be fine against the run, but didn’t turn out the way for us. That’s the biggest culprit from yesterday.”’
Jerry Sullivan: What Bills fans miss is the idea of Dareus
‘Dareus is gone. What people miss is the idea of Dareus, the grand notion of a former No. 3 overall pick at his best. The Bills traded the Dareus who had become a serial knucklehead, an unreliable and uninspired player who was a drag on the salary cap and needed a change of scenery.’
10 takeaways from Sean McDermott and Co.: Bills keeping the faith in Mike Tolbert
‘In the last two games, Tolbert has given the Bills almost nothing. His only other carry Sunday went for no gain, meaning he finished the day with two rushes for minus-2 yards. Against the Jets in Week 9, he was held to 3 yards on four carries, so in the Bills’ last two games his grand total is 1 yard on six attempts. Despite that, coach Sean McDermott said he hasn’t lost confidence in Tolbert.’
Mark Gaughan’s Film Breakdown: Saints expose Bills’ talent gap in front seven
‘The Bills lack beef in the middle. Veteran Kyle Williams is best when he has an elite thumper next to him. When he doesn’t at this stage of his career, he plays small against quality offensive lines. His defensive tackle partners are far from elite (and Marcell Dareus wasn’t giving the Bills elite play before he was traded).’
Bills Day After: 3-6 Chargers no soft touch for Bills
‘The Los Angeles Chargers are 3-6, but they’re sneaky. They’ve been outscored by only five points all season.’
Fox’s Barber channels frustration of Bills fans in a calm way
‘I wish he had gotten excited – or even better – angry at the Bills’ pitiful defensive performance.’
‘That’s my son,’ says mom of streaker arrested at Bills game
‘Lambright calls himself “Senor Wiener” on his Facebook page, the pseudonym he uses when competing in an Ontario roller derby league, said his mother, Kari Snyder Parker.’
Is it time for the Bills to bench Tyrod Taylor for Nathan Peterman? Not yet
‘Let’s not forget, as ridiculous as it may be to consider the possibility given what we all saw Sunday, the 5-4 Bills remain right in the thick of the AFC playoff picture. Their task to stay in it is difficult the next three weeks with road games at the Chargers and Chiefs and a home date with the Patriots, but the math says Buffalo has almost a 50 percent chance to qualify for the postseason.’
Roth: With back-to-back blowout losses, Bills are streaking toward 18th non-playoff year
‘ The Bills are now full monty, exposed for what they are nine games into the Brandon Beane/Sean McDermott Era: an average team headed for an average record, and maybe worse, if something doesn’t change drastically.’
How’s your Monday going? At least you didn’t get caught streaking at the Bills game Sunday
‘A second person was also arrested for jumping onto the field. Aric Belling, 19 of Clarence, was charged with criminal trespass. He was released on an appearance ticket.’
Why Sean McDermott isn’t worried about losing locker room after Bills’ blowout losses
‘”This is an incredibly tight-knit group,” Incognito said. “We have a good foundation. We know who we are. We know why we work hard. I expect the guys to come back tomorrow, bounce back and get back tomorrow.”‘
