‘Taylor ranks 20th in value per play among all quarterbacks, according to Football Outsiders’ metrics, just behind Russell Wilson and Marcus Mariota. A season ago, Taylor ranked 19th in value per play.’

Six potential landing spots for Tyrod Taylor in 2018, including one AFC East team
‘Six words: Josh McCown, Christian Hackenberg, Bryce Petty. McCown is 38 years young and neither Hackenberg (the 2016 second-round pick) nor Petty (a 2015 fourth-round) have been good enough to unseat him. In fact, when Rex Ryan was the Jets coach he desperately tried to get Taylor.’
Jon Gruden made wild prediction about Nathan Peterman before 2017 NFL Draft
‘”Peterman is ready to walk in and be a contributor from day one,” Gruden wrote on ESPN.com in April. “He just looks like a pro quarterback — coming out of the huddle, running an offense with different formations, shifting, motioning, different patterns that other colleges don’t run. Peterman will recognize route combinations and associate formations.”‘
Bills QB Tyrod Taylor Benched; Nathan Peterman to Start vs. Chargers
‘Buffalo enters the week with the league’s 28th–ranked offense and 30th–ranked passing offense.’
Bills Bench Tyrod Taylor: Did the Quarterback Get a Fair Shot?
‘Taylor was never going to work in Buffalo, but not for lack of effort on his part. The satisfaction will have to come in succeeding elsewhere, in an offense that rewards his measured mobility and decision-making. Until then, all eyes will be on the Bills and this puzzling—but ultimately predictable—gamble with a playoff spot on the line.’
Tyrod Taylor says he disagrees with Bills’ decision to bench him
‘Depending on how Peterman performs, we may have seen the last of Taylor at Orchard Park. Taylor is owed a $6-million bonus in March and, based on this latest move, it’s unlikely the Bills are willing to pay it. According to Spotrac, Buffalo would clear nearly $10 million in cap space by releasing Taylor in the off-season.’
Person of Interest: Buffalo Bills rookie QB Nathan Peterman
‘When talking about Peterman’s college career, one game against Clemson will always be referenced. Pittsburgh was the only team to beat the national champions in 2016 and Peterman was the main reason.’
Peterman named starting quarterback against Chargers
‘”We are 5-4, I understand that and we are in the playoff hunt at this point. It is always, and for the time that I am here, will be about becoming the best team that we can possibly become. We are made for more than 5-4, and I’ve come here to be more than 5-4.”‘
Peterman has big shoes to fill for fantasy owners
‘Nathan Peterman is not going to replace that. Peterman showed an ability to scramble in the preseason, but does not have near the athletic ability that Taylor has. What Peterman should provide the Bills, is more timely throws, and Bills fans would hope is less dump offs to the likes of Mike Tolbert and Pat DiMarco on 3rd and long. In reality, Peterman may be a very comparable passer to Taylor. Efficient. Not a gun slinger. Efficient.’
Who is Nathan Peterman?
‘Peterman’s experience in a pro-style passing attack gives him a head start headed into the league. His physical attributes are just average, but his accuracy, composure and anticipation are what sets him apart from some of the more physically gifted quarterbacks in this year’s draft. Peterman’s tape is sure to catch the eye of at least a few teams in need of a quarterback and he should come off the board by day two with a chance to become a solid starting quarterback in the future.’
Taylor has to move forward after the benching decision
‘”[I’m] very confident in my abilities. I think I’ve grown as a player over the past three years, and I’m going to continue to keep growing whether I’m playing on Sundays or when I’m learning [like] right now. I’m going to continue to keep growing, and I have full confidence that I can be a franchise quarterback when the opportunity presents itself. I’ll continue to keep doing the things that I know how to do.”‘
That escalated quickly
‘The majority of the evidence suggests that all along here, Taylor has been viewed as nothing more than a placeholder by McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane. Taylor was allowed to look for a better opportunity last offseason, and I’m still stunned he couldn’t find one. Maybe the Bills were too because while Taylor was shopping, they were reportedly talking with Mike Glennon and Brian Hoyer. Eventually, a pay cut was accepted and Taylor was back.’
McDermott: Nathan Peterman to start at quarterback Sunday
‘Well, I certainly wasn’t expecting that to kick things off on Wednesday morning.’
Bills’ Tyrod Taylor on being benched: “I don’t agree with the decision”
‘”I don’t really look at life as fair or unfair,” Taylor said. “There’s going to be plenty of circumstances that you go through that’s not fair, or fair. You just have to deal with it, to be honest.”‘
