‘”I want to start off by mentioning my heart-felt condolences, and our heart-felt condolences to Logan and the Thomas family, on the loss of his daughter,” McDermott said. “It offers great respective, again, for where we are and what we do. We know how important it is, and it seems like the only thing at times, but it’s certainly not the only thing. We’re going to offer our support, our love, and wrap our arms around the Thomas family at this time for as long as they need it.”‘

Bills’ Sean McDermott on Anquan Boldin: ‘My focus is on the 63 guys that I coach’
‘”I’m 100 percent focused on this football team,” McDermott said. “Anything else would be a mistake on my part. I wouldn’t be doing my job. That’s what I’m focused on. I care about the guys that are in this building and we have a big challenge in front of us come Sunday. We have to respect that process also.”‘
Buffalo Bills CB E.J. Gaines out for Week 8 game against Raiders
‘Gaines suffered a hamstring injury in Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was unable to practice this week. Shareece Wright will start at cornerback in his place.’
Can the Buffalo Bills stop Khalil Mack and 7 more things to watch versus Raiders
‘One way to slow down the Raiders’ offense is by making them one-dimensional. Buffalo has been strong in run defense all season and are currently ranked seventh in the league allowing just 84.5 yards per game. The Raiders will be without Marshawn Lynch on Sunday so the Bills’ run defense will have to stop DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard in Week 8. If the Bills can take the backs out the game, it should bode well for their chances.’
Reports: Bills deal Marcell Dareus to Jags
‘Since the team hired head coach Sean McDermott in January and Beane in May, the Bills have since parted with wide receiver Sammy Watkins, cornerback Ron Darby, and now Dareus.’
McDermott talks Anquan Boldin’s trade request, Friday injury report
‘Along with discussing Boldin’s potential trade and return to the NFL, McDermott gave injury updates for his team as it hosts the Oakland Raiders (3-4) on Sunday at 1 p.m. at New Era Field. Many are still up in the air, however, one important one is not. Cornerback EJ Gaines (hamstring) has been declared out.’
Bills pull off another blockbuster, deal Dareus to Jaguars
‘This means the overpaid, underachieving defensive tackle reports to Jacksonville’s new head of football operations: Mr. Show Up Ten Minutes Early, Or Else himself, Tom Coughlin. What’s more, Dareus is reunited with disciplinarian head coach Doug Marrone, Mr. Offer Me $4-million To Leave And I’m Outta Here, who coached the 27-year-old in Buffalo from 2013-14.’

Buffalo Bills trade defensive tackle Marcell Dareus
‘Dareus had played 34 percent of the Bills’ defensive snaps this season and had one sack and eight tackles. He was coming off a season-high 41 snaps in the Bills’ 30-27 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday and had drawn praise from the Buffalo coaches.’
Marcell Dareus traded to Jacksonville Jaguars from Buffalo Bills
‘Dareus was the third overall selection in what was a loaded 2011 NFL Draft. Cam Newton and Von Miller were selected one-two before Dareus, and immediately after A.J. Green, Patrick Peterson and Julio Jones were selected. Tyron Smith, J.J. Watt, Robert Quinn, Ryan Kerrigan and Cameron Jordan were also first-round picks that year. In all, the first round of the 2011 draft produced 15 players who earned at least one Pro Bowl selection. While Dareus does have those two Pro Bowl selections in tow, a strong case could be made that the Bills might have done better with their third overall pick.’
Jaguars acquire former Pro Bowl DT Dareus from Bills
‘Jacksonville ranks sixth in total defense and second in passing defense, but 31st against the run. Dareus, a two-time Pro Bowl selection and the third overall pick in the 2011 draft, should help bolster the middle of Jacksonville’s line.’
Bills cornerback EJ Gaines out for Raiders with leg injury
‘Buffalo will be without tight end Charles Clay (knee) and linebacker Ramon Humber (thumb). Safety Jordan Poyer (knee) and Richie Incognito (ankle) are expected to be game-time decisions.’
Bills trade Dareus to Jaguars for conditional draft pick
‘”I give Marcell a lot of credit,” Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane, who was not part of the front office when Dareus signed his extension, told reporters. “I thought he made huge strides as of late. But we thought this was a good move for us going forward. But it is also a fresh start for him.”‘
