‘After trading away Dareus, here’s a look at the picks the Bills currently have in next year’s draft.’

‘Essentially, this deal was a salary dump for the Bills. Releasing Dareus after the season would have been a more expensive move. Even if designated as a post-June 1 cut, the Bills would have eaten a dead cap hit in 2019. Trading him made the most sense from a financial perspective.’

‘”I mean, yeah he was a question mark,” Beane said Friday. “When you come in to a new city and you look at the roster, you obviously look at, ‘okay, he is a guy that you flag for two reasons: 1. He’s a higher salary guy, B. he had a prior history with the suspensions.’ You do want to see those guys, you know, how they fit, and like I said early on, we probably had some struggles but he’s not a bad person. At the end of the day, I wish him the best and I know Sean does and the whole organization does.”‘

‘On Friday night, the Buffalo Bills traded Marcell Dareus to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The trade will reunite Dareus with his former head coach Doug Marrone. Marrone coached the defensive tackle for two seasons before opting of his deal. After Marrone moved on, Dareus shared his thoughts on the head coach and it could lead to an awkward reunion of sorts between the two.’

‘Dareus has plenty of talent, but it was clear that he wore out his welcome in Buffalo. Last week, CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora reported Buffalo was “quite open” to parting ways with Dareus before this year’s trade deadline. Although it doesn’t appear that the Bills received much for the defensive tackle, the trade will give Buffalo cap flexibility.’

‘”I want to start off by mentioning my heart-felt condolences, and our heart-felt condolences to Logan and the Thomas family, on the loss of his daughter,” McDermott said. “It offers great respective, again, for where we are and what we do. We know how important it is, and it seems like the only thing at times, but it’s certainly not the only thing. We’re going to offer our support, our love, and wrap our arms around the Thomas family at this time for as long as they need it.”‘

‘”I’m 100 percent focused on this football team,” McDermott said. “Anything else would be a mistake on my part. I wouldn’t be doing my job. That’s what I’m focused on. ‘Gaines suffered a hamstring injury in Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was unable to practice this week. Shareece Wright will start at cornerback in his place.’

‘One way to slow down the Raiders’ offense is by making them one-dimensional. Buffalo has been strong in run defense all season and are currently ranked seventh in the league allowing just 84.5 yards per game. The Raiders will be without Marshawn Lynch on Sunday so the Bills’ run defense will have to stop DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard in Week 8. If the Bills can take the backs out the game, it should bode well for their chances.’
