Buffalo Bills open to trading Marcell Dareus, expected to cut him in 2018

‘Dareus played 57-percent of snaps in the Bills’ Week 7 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but his role has fluctuated throughout the season. Trading Dareus isn’t impossible given the Bills’ current salary cap situation. The Bills would have to eat a $14.2 million dead money cap hit in 2018 if they traded him. However, the bigger ask is on the team trading for Dareus. His contract runs through 2021 and carries cap hits of $17 million, $16 million and $14 million in the final three seasons of the deal.’

‘Deonte Thompson’s second stint in Buffalo began on Tuesday. Despite his lack of time in the offense, the wide receiver caught four passes on Sunday for 107 yards. The most impressive part of Thompson’s performance on Sunday is that he was only on the field for 14 pass routes. Thompson’s chemistry with Tyrod Taylor is apparent from their time together in Baltimore and he should only get better with more time in the offense.’

Each week, it’s maybe a little bit of a different crew inside, McDermott said. “The competition that’s going on there on a weekly basis is healthy, it’s good for all of us, it brings out the best in all of us, myself included.
