WR Brandon Reilly becomes the latest Bill to take Chicago-to-Buffalo Uber route
'We had a "team meeting at 8 this morning. Couldn't miss it," Reilly said after practice Monday. "I ordered two and they saw where I was going so they canceled it. Some guy accepted and I called him to make sure he was cool with it. I got in and said 'it looks like we're about to get to know each other a little better."'
Five things to know about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Bills' Week Seven opponent
'Who plays QB? Quarterback Jameis Winston suffered a right shoulder injury in the first quarter of Sunday’s game and did not return. X-rays were negative, but an MRI Monday reportedly revealed an AC joint sprain that Winston may be able to play through, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. "I tried, I tried to battle it out and I guess sitting on the sideline only makes it worse and it stiffened up. That's all,” Winston said, via TampaBay.com. "I fell on my shoulder. Yeah, I've had that injury before. If it was in my other shoulder, it would've been fine but the throwing shoulder is kind of tough." If Winston can’t go, the Bills would be in for another dose of Fitzmagic in ageless wonder Ryan Fitzpatrick, the former Bill.'
Bills Notebook: Henderson activated, competition at offense, Dareus excused from practice
'Henderson was diagnosed with Crohn's disease last season. He had used medicinal marijuana in 2016 to deal with the pain from the illness. However, there are no exemptions for medical marijuana under the NFL's current collective bargaining agreement.'
Bills coach Sean McDermott on WGR: ‘We’re still so young and we’re trying to build’
‘Sean McDermott: “We’re still so young and we’re trying to build — the players still haven’t seen, haven’t mastered the entire playbook.”‘
If the season ended today, the Buffalo Bills would be in the playoffs
'The Bills, as they always are, will be relegated to the wild-card race, and that’s where Sunday was a bonanza. The Ravens, Jets, Jaguars, Raiders and Broncos all lost, and if the season ended right now — I know that’s a ridiculous thing to say and I’m slapping myself for saying it — the Bills would own the first wild-card spot in the AFC.'
Leslie Frazier says Buffalo Bills 'still have confidence' in Marcell Dareus
'"I think for us, being a new staff and all, he just, everyone has a new slate," Frazier said. "That's how we've kind of approached every player on our defense, and the slate was wiped clean from day one and that's the way we approached it. All we want Marcell to do is just build on what we saw last week. He did some really good things in the run game, had a good sack when the quarterback tried to step up. If we can build on that and just keep progressing, our defense will get better as he gets better as well, and that's a good thing for us. Really encouraged in what we saw last week against Cincinnati."'
Buffalo Bills move beyond protest, plan 5 community events for off day
'Now, the Bills are planning to go beyond protest and will be going into their communities to try to create change.'
Buffalo Bills activate OT Seantrel Henderson after suspension
'"This coaching staff is all about hard work and grit, making sure everybody is reliable and doing their job at all times," Henderson said. "That's most important with this coaching staff. No shortcuts, everything is about being on time, doing your job, and taking care of what you have to do in order to keep the team going."'
Buffalo Bills WR Jordan Matthews making progress from thumb injury
'"We're going to have to see," McDermott said. "He still has that deal with the thumb going on. It's day-to-day. We just have to see and make sure things heal up the right way. We'll know a little bit more tomorrow. Just coming off the bye, he made a tremendous amount of progress. We just have to see at this point how he looks going into Wednesday."'
Bills: Matthews return possible, other post-bye injury updates (video)
'Officially, Matthews (thumb) is listed as day-to-day. Tight end Charles Clay (knee) and linebacker Ramon Humber (thumb) are listed as week-to-week. Defensive tackle Marcell Dareus will also miss practice on Monday due to a personal issue.'
Bills: WR Brandon Reilly hears fans, says he’ll be ready
'“I see it every now and then. My buddies back home I think they check it more than me. They always tell me,” Reilly said. “It’s like how everyone will let you know they love the backup quarterback until he gets in. Hopefully if I do get moved up I can prove I belong and make a name for myself.”'
Bills receiver Matthews has cast removed from right thumb
'"I'm trying to make sure I hone in on all my other skills," Matthews said. "My left hand is my off hand, so I feel if anything, this is time for me to actually work on one of my deficiencies."'
Bills surprisingly in playoff hunt
'Staying there, however, could be tricky. While the defense has played well all season, the offense has been unwatchable at times, with neither the running game nor the passing game able to establish much consistency. The two go hand in hand, and in the Bills' case, their complete lack of explosiveness through the air has directly affected their once strong ability to run.'
McDermott eager to get back to work after bye week
'"I think it gave us a good chance to do some self evaluation of ourselves as coaches, and look at our schemes and fundamentals. All of those areas were good for us to [take time to” target=”_blank”> look at," McDermott said at his press conference on Monday at One Bills Drive. "We worked Monday through Wednesday, players were in here, and we got on the field a little bit as well. Just really to build some self-awareness as to what we did well, what we didn't do well and what we need to improve moving forward."'
