'Jones says the support from all over, especially from those in Buffalo, has been amazing. “You don’t realize how special [the Bills fan base" target="_blank"> is until you’re not there.”'

On the eve of his retirement, Bills exec reflects on his 44-year career
'If you asked Bill Munson, Bills VP of Government Relations & External Affairs, to describe himself in a few words, he would tell you that he’s loyal, dedicated, trustworthy and honest – and after spending 44 years with the Bills, everyone that knows him would agree. Throughout his tenure with the team, Munson has held nine different roles, seen 889 Bills games live, driven over 1,000,000 miles to and from One Bills Drive and built relationships with 1,122 Bills all-time roster players and 227 all-time roster coaches. After a remarkable career, Munson is ready to embark on the next chapter in his life and will officially retire on Friday, Sept. 1.'
Bills Today: Evaluation process for final cuts
'“We’ll digest what happens in the game,” said Beane. “We’ll come in [Friday], medically see where everyone is first. And then, get all the guys in. Break down the film. The next thing we’ll do is meet with the personnel guys, position by position, how they see it. And then we’ll come back, circle up with Sean, and the executive staff. We’ll talk about what we heard, what we didn’t hear, and then we’ll circle back with at least the coordinators…We’ll do that all day [Friday].'

Peterman impressive as Bills close preseason with 27-17 win over Lions
'"I think it's bigger than that," coach Sean McDermott said of Peterman making his case as a potential opening-day starter if needed. "It's developing a young player, regardless of what position. We wanted to get him out there and give him a good look in a couple of series, and I thought he did a good job."'
Cameron Jefferson heckled by Bills fan, while his fist and roster spot remain in the air
'"All I can do is my part and let the chips fall where they may," Jefferson said. "It's in God's hands now."'
Jerry Sullivan: Bills-Lions a game even Roger Goodell couldn't love
'What can you say when the most pressing issue heading into the exhibition finale was whether rookie Nathan Peterman would see any action at quarterback? The thinking was, the Bills might not risk Peterman getting hurt with Tyrod Taylor and T.J. Yates in the concussion protocol.'
Insta-Graham: Bills courageously conquer Lions in what forever will be recalled as The Wenning Game
'Wenning completed five of his 15 attempts for 41 yards in Buffalo's 27-17 victory. The performance will be recalled alongside those of Jordan Palmer (four days with Buffalo in 2014) and Matt Leinart (five days with Buffalo in 2013).'
Bills Notebook: Beane feeling "good" about Taylor's Week 1 status, Worthy, Ola injure
'Asked if it’s possible Taylor could start without practicing, McDermott said: “We’ll see. We’ll cross that road when we come to it. A long time between now and game week. It can be tricky, you’ve got all different types of situations out there. And so we evaluate those on an individual basis.”'
Bills Notebook: Jerel Worthy ruled out with a head injury
'The fourth-year veteran had to be helped off the field and into the locker room following a head-to-head collision with another player on the final play of the first quarter with the Bills up 10-0 on the Detroit Lions.'
What They Said: Sean McDermott, Nathan Peterman & Jordan Johnson after the Bills-Lions preseason
'I thought he was sharp. He moved the offense. I liked what he did. They got into a rhythm. I thought [Rick Dennison] did a good job. We mixed in some runs, a good blend of runs and passes, stayed pretty balanced and we were able to get points on the first drive, which was important.'
There's no keeping him down: How Sean McDermott ascended to coach of the Bills
'Reid, now coach of the Kansas City Chiefs: "You could just tell by how he handled himself that he was destined for great things. I love the kid. I love him to death. He's a great person. I care for him a lot."'
Nathan Peterman looked sharp as Bills defeat Lions in preseason finale
'I’ve said this going all the way back to the third day of the draft: I liked the Peterman pick, and he’s not disappointing me. Again, he’s playing with mostly scrubs, against mostly scrubs, but you can tell the kid knows what he’s doing, that he has a good feel for the game, and in a short passing game such as this one under offensive coordinator Rick Dennison, he can have success.'
Maiorana: If Sean McDermott asks, this is my 53-man Bills roster
'Wide receiver (6): Zay Jones, Jordan Matthews, Brandon Tate, Rod Streater, Andre Holmes, and Daikiel Shorts. What a mess. Jones and Matthews (if healthy) will start opening day, and after that, it’s anyone’s guess who might play. I have Streater making it, assuming he can get back soon from his toe injury. If he can’t, he’ll either go on IR or be waived. Holmes has done nothing impressive, but he’s a veteran with experience, which the Bills need. Tate makes it only for his return ability, and Shorts is a stab in the dark. If not him, maybe Brandon Reilly or Dez Lewis are kept.'
Pollock: Who will survive when Bills cut to 53 players?
'Holmes has done nothing and seems expendable even with the Bills’ mostly-anonymous receiving corps. Davis wouldn’t necessarily be missed with Eddie Yarbrough, waived last year by Denver, having impressed since training camp began. And if Mike Tolbert, the 31-year-old 5-foot-9, 250-pound veteran, was moved to fullback, the Bills might be willing to part with DiMarco. Ducasse, though, has been battling John Miller for the starting right guard job.'
