'Richie Incognito: "We have 16 games to prove what type of team the 2017 Bills are. This is the first step. We’re going to come out of the gates red hot. We have a lot to prove to ourselves, and that’s all that matters."'

Bills win season opener and debut for Sean McDermott
'"I wanna thank Terry and Kim for giving us the recourses they give us. That was an entire building win right there. Good win as a team and I'm certainly proud of the players and the way they played. It's never easy to win in this league and they played hard for four quarters so I certainly appreciate that," said the rookie head coach.'
McCoy carries the load in Bills season-opening victory
'True that, but the Bills are going to have to guard against overusing McCoy because he is engine that drives their offense. He is the most indispensable Bill. Twenty-seven touches per game equates to 432 over a 16-game schedule, and that’s not going to happen. There was much concern going into the season about who would spell McCoy – a role Mike Gillislee so capably filled last season before bolting for the free agent dollars the New England Patriots threw at him. If the Jets game is any indication, the new Gillislee may be Mike Tolbert, a 5-foot-9, 260-pound human bowling ball who rushed for 42 yards on 12 carries and also caught a pass for 12 yards.'
Bills Knock Off Jets 21-12
'A win that puts them in sole possession of first place is nice but it was against the worst team in the league. Things will get tougher and it starts next week.'
Ground game and run ‘D’ carry Bills to Week 1 win
'McCoy had 159 yards from scrimmage, with 110 of them coming on the ground as he averaged five yards per carry and went over the 12,000 mark for career yards from scrimmage.'
Top 3 things we learned from Bills-Jets
'“We wanted to control the line of scrimmage and I thought we did that on the defensive front,” said head coach Sean McDermott. “Our run defense was outstanding.”'
What they're saying: Bills discuss first win in the McDermott era
'I feel good. I feel good. Very thankful, very thankful. Thank God for the win. Praise God. That was a great team victory. Thank Terry and Kim [Pegula for" target="_blank"> giving us the resources that they give us. Just like I said, it was an entire building win. Good to win as a team and extremely proud of the players the way they played. It’s never easy to win in this league and they played hard for four quarters. I certainly appreciate that. I also appreciate the fans. Four quarters, hanging in there with us. The intensity, the energy in this building was outstanding. Outstanding. To carry that for four quarters, I can’t thank them enough. It’s great to play at home, and we look forward to seeing them in a couple weeks here.'
Ducasse headlines Bills inactives
'The reason Ducasse is inactive is likely rooted in the fact that Ryan Groy offers more position versatility as a backup as he’ll serve today as the backup center to Eric Woodand the swing guard, should anything happen to Miller or Richie Incognito.'
Bills Today: Incognito acknowledges talented Jets defense
'“Super talented front, they have a bunch of first-round picks up front. They have some linebackers that really can fly around and hit people. It’s going to be a challenge for us front to get a block… it’ll be a good test for us,” Incognito said.'

LeSean Report: Elite elusiveness, examining fit in the Bills' zone-blocking scheme
'McCoy has proven to be a running back capable of production in a variety of offenses, and he had plenty of success in a zone-blocking scheme in Philadelphia, which bodes well for his 2017 season in Buffalo.'
Time for McDermott's process to show results
'Bills fans seem ambivalent about this year's squad. Sources tell me season-ticket sales are down significantly, perhaps by as many as 5,000. Two days before the season opener, the Bills still wouldn't release any official numbers. As I recall, they couldn't wait to tell the world in 2015.'
LSU connection for White, Adams spices Bills-Jets opener
'“That was the goal all along,” said White, the Bills’ rookie cornerback, said of being integral pieces for their franchises. “We wanted to be first-rounders. We wanted to be the guy that’s the first pick for a coach. That was our goal at LSU. And we did that.'
