'Prior to coaching at ECU, McGeoghan spent four years with the Miami Dolphins, serving as an assistant wide receivers coach from 2012 through November 2015, when he earned a promotion to wide receivers coach for the remainder of that season. McGeoghan helped Dolphins receiver Jarvis Landry set a single-season franchise record with 110 catches in 2015.'

'"I put that truck around town. I was all-in. Even though those other three had quit, I wasn't a quitter. I was ready. And I wanted to be there. And I wanted to win. And I thought I could win."'

'None of the departures come as a big surprise, although with McDermott retaining special teams coordinator Danny Crossman, it seemed like a possibility that Eric Smith and Kathryn Smith could return.'

"So for him and Sean McVay (the former Washington Redskins' offensive coordinator who recently became head coach of the Los Angeles Rams), guys I'm totally pumped for, because I've seen their work. 'It was classic motor-mouth Rex, and in many ways, served as the perfect bookend to his two-year tenure in Buffalo. He came in spewing all kinds of rhetoric that day he was introduced as the Bills’ new head coach, and now he has exited doing the same thing, albeit with a far different tone.'

'Topping Clayton's list was New England Patriots QB Tom Brady. The only other active quarterback to make the list was Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (No. 10).'

'Special teams coordinator Danny Crossman is the only remaining holdover from the Rex Ryan staff. His retention seemed like good news for the rest of his staff, but after just one season as a special teams quality control coach, Kathryn Smith, a Syracuse native, is again looking for work. '

'"Supporting" a winner is all Rex ever did, unfortunately. He went seven straight seasons without a winning seasons. He went six straight seasons without the playoffs, becoming just the fourth coach since the merger to do so. His defense was a constant source of disappointment in Buffalo. In 2016 alone, he allowed three 200-yard rushing performances and had 10 players on the field for arguably the most pivotal play of the season.'

'The Buffalo Bills have had few constants in those years and the shape of the franchise in Western New York has had multiple twists and turns along the way from different coaches, players, and more.'

'“I don’t wish (Buffalo) bad will,” Ryan said. “I don’t. But I don’t wish them luck either. I’ll be honest: I don’t wish them good luck. I don’t wish them bad luck. I just don’t wish them luck.”'

'Reed spent 11 of his 12 NFL seasons with the Ravens and established himself as one of the top players in franchise history. He had long expressed an interest in coaching and it was hardly surprising that it was Ryan, his former defensive coordinator with the Ravens, who gave him his first opportunity.'

'The move was fairly expected as new head coaches often bring in their own assistants, shifting away from those already in an organization.'

'"The one thing about (being on TV) is that you don't lose," Ryan told the newspaper. "You'll remember every (expletive) loss. But the wins? You don't necessarily remember. So, it takes a lot out of you. I'm tired of getting (expletive). Unless it's a real situation, there's no sense of getting into it again."'

'"I'm really not that bitter [about being fired] and maybe that $15 million [remaining on the deal] is one of the reasons," Ryan told the Daily News. "I'm not bitter, man. … Yeah, I'm hurt. I was hurt by it. There's no question. But bitter ain't how I feel. I'm like, 'Shoot, if they never wanted me here, then fine. I ain't here. I'm not your coach anymore. Fine and dandy.'"'
