'The 2016 season has been a nightmare for Watkins. He has played in only six games and has a mere 17 catches for 245 yards and one touchdown. By comparison, that’s about, on average, two games of work for his buddy Odell Beckham Jr. of the Giants. Watkins’ off-season foot surgery had a more far-reaching impact than anyone — including Watkins — thought it would and he spent eight games on the injured reserve list after trying to play in the first two when it was clear he wasn’t ready.'

'Pro Bowl alternates only play in the game if those ahead of them decide not to play. Of the Bills who were named alternates, only Williams and Incognito were named first alternates. The others are all second or third alternates for the game.'

'It's about right in front of you and I think the time for all of that is probably after the season. But right in front of you it's business as usual and as I've mentioned, that's the way it is for me and that's the way it is for a lot of guys I think.'

'Left guard Richie Incognito and defensive tackle Kyle Williams were both named first alternates.'

'The Bills signed Eddins as an undrafted free agent after the 2011 NFL Draft. He spent two seasons with the Bills, mostly on the practice squad. He did appear in one regular season game in 2011 and four preseason games in 2012. Eddins finished his career in the Canadian Football League and last played in 2014.'

His touchdown required an impressive adjustment to a badly underthrown pass from QB Tyrod Taylor, despite a coverage bust on the play, and for the game, Clay beat five different Browns defenders for catches.'

'“He hasn’t had a penalty of that kind since,” Christensen said. “We said that we love the aggressiveness, we just have to lower our target on the thing. I think any coach would appreciate that. But, yes, he has. We certainly teach being within the rules, and we certainly don’t want to hurt anybody, but you certainly want aggressive guys. While JP Losman was beating the Dolphins, Joey Harrington was completing 5 for 17 passes for 20 yards, which might have been enough to send Saban back to college football.'

'“It could be (strange). I’d probably go into another locker in the situation, or another locker room. I’ve never even seen that (visiting) locker room, but other than that, like I said, just like everybody else and myself, we just want to win this one game. That’s all that really matters.
