'I thought the Bills were going to take a ground and pound approach at Gillette Stadium and yet they ended up with 39 passes and 32 runs. It marked the first time the Bills won in a game where Taylor threw 30 or more times. The passing attack called for short drops, quick releases and a controlled approach that gave Taylor some high percentage throws and basically nibbled the Patriots defense to death.'

Two wins to be proud of
'Last year in Buffalo, Edelman ran his mouth and just killed the Bills. He induced numerous personal foul penalties just by getting in their face. This year, they totally ignored his crap and he had one catch. Twice he tried to turn Ron Darby to get in his face and trash talk and Darby didn’t even look his way and walked away.'
Bills-Patriots: Arrow Up/Arrow Down
'LB Zach Brown: The free-agent signing came into the week as the second leading tackler in the NFL. Then, he was everywhere on the Gillette Stadium turf. It seemed like Brown was in on every tackle or pressure of the QB. At the end of the game his final stat line read 18 total tackles, 3 of those for a loss, 1 sack, 2 QB hurries, and 2 forced fumbles. His hit and forced fumble from Pats QB Jacoby Brissett at the Bills 18 yard line was a huge play. '
Stack 'em up
'So full credit to the Bills for not just finding a way to win at New England, but doing it in style. That's if it's possible for a 16-0 win to be stylish. I say it is. Sure it was a shutout against a third string rookie quarterback, but still, I already mentioned that New England had easily shutout Houston. So to get that win is impressive any way you want to look at it. It's important when you're playing a third string rookie quarterback that you make him look, well, like a third string rookie quarterback. The Bills did that Sunday.'
Bills/Patriots preview: notes and stats
'Sammy Watkins likely needs a second operation on his injured foot, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. If additional surgery is necessary, it would end Watkins' season.'
Bills shutout New England 16-0
'LeSean McCoy ran for 70 yards and was heavily involved in the passing game, with six catches for 38 yards. He scored the Bills only touchdown of the game, a seven yard catch from Taylor on Buffalo’s opening drive.'
7 observations from Bills – Patriots (10/2/16)
'One of the reasons that the Bills have been able to play as well defensively without the loss of those three key players has been veteran inside linebacker Zach Brown. He stepped in for the rookie Ragland after the team lost him for the year to a torn ACL, and has done so almost seamlessly.'
Bills start pregame scuffle with Patriots
'Just moments after entering the field in uniform, the Bills defensive backs — most notably safeties Robert Blanton and Aaron Williams — started a pre-game scuffle with quarterback Jacoby Brissett and wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell.'
Report: Bills' Watkins may need second surgery
'ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported early on Sunday that Watkins, the team’s top wide receiver, will be heading to North Carolina to get a consultation from foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson. The meeting will be to determine if Watkins needs a second surgery on his foot, after dealing with pain through the first three weeks of the season.'
Bills hand Patriots first ever shutout at Gillette Stadium in 16-0 win
'Tyrod Taylor threw the ball to eight different receivers, with a team high seven different receptions for Robert Woods who filled in for an injured Sammy Watkins.'
Pregame scuffle fired up the Bills vs the Patriots
'"It actually pumped us up because we came out very reserved like we always do you know calm but when he did that it put a fire under us and we came out there with some fire and were like we're not going to let anyone disrespect us no matter where we are," added Nickel Robey-Coleman.'
Bills take care of business with rare win in Foxborough
'But the man who had the biggest hand in the win was Taylor. We’ve heard a lot about other teams wanting to “make him be a quarterback.” Well, Taylor was a quarterback Sunday against Bill Belichick, a coach famous for getting inside the heads of opposing signal-callers. Taylor got tight end Charles Clay (5 catches, 47 yards) and wide receiver Robert Woods (seven, 89) involved early, and that helped loosen things up and boost Taylor’s confidence.'
Bills Shutout Pats 16-0
The Bills defense swarmed rookie third string quarterback Jacoby Brissett all day long as they handed the Patriots their first ever shutout at Gillette Stadium 16-0. The victory was the second straight for Buffalo and pulled them to within a game of first place and in sole possession of 2nd place in the AFC East. Tyrod Taylor hit LeSean McCoy for a 7 yard touchdown on the opening series and Dan Carpenter added three field goals as the Bills controlled the game from the start.
Defense Outstanding In Shutout Effort
Quarterback: Tyrod Taylor was very impressive on opening drive finding the open receivers and spreading the field. He finally won a game when he threw more than 30 passes. He finished 27 of 39 for 246 yards and a 94.6 QB rating. He was accurate throwing on the run and mixed in 28 yards on five carries. Grade A: He played quarterback today and won the game.'
Patriots shut out for first time ever at Gillette Stadium
'Rex is getting incredible performances from his defensive players. Jerry Hughes is one of the best pass rushers in football. Zach Brown has been everywhere the last few weeks, with 18 tackles, three for a loss, QB hits and a sack Sunday. Journeymen like Lorenzo Alexander are playing like quality starters. This was the first time the Patriots were shut out in the history of Gillette Stadium.'
