'The Bills would again go 3-and-out on offense when their defense desperately needed some rest. The defense however would come up big forcing a 3-and-out of their own. The Rams would throw some trickery at the Bills faking a punt with just under 4-minutes to play but Ronald Darby would make a tremendous play wrapping the ball carrier up before he could get passed the sticks.'

'LB Lorenzo Alexander: The veteran had a game that should put him squarely in the discussion for AFC Defensive Player of the week.'

'Buffalo’s defense continued to work smoothly without Dareus, sacking Case Keenum four times. The Bills also stood tall in the redzone, holding the Rams to three field goals in four of their trips inside the 20.'

'Since Sammy Watkins has gone down with his foot injury, the message has been pretty clear from the Bills on offense: Everything goes through running back LeSean McCoy. Through three weeks, it’s been working in a big, big way.'

' On a day when Tyrod Taylor threw two touchdown passes, but finished with just 124 passing yards, McCoy carried the load. Look for the offense to continue to run through him while Taylor attempts to show he can make the necessary throws to be the long-term solution.'

'Stat I Didn't Like: First Downs: They gave up 23 of them to a poor Rams offense.'

'Rex Ryan Bad clock management late in the game when they snapped the ball with too much time on the play clock and didn't run the clock down enough. Brought his team cross country and got a win against a team with a winning record. Nice job.'

'L.A. inched back into the game a couple of times and got a short field goal from Zuerlein with less than six minutes remaining to make it 23-19, and got the ball back after the Buffalo offense went three-and-out. But the defense held and Ronald Darby stopped a fake punt short of the marker for a turnover on downs.'

'“We knew what we were getting. We thought we were getting a great pass rusher, it’s just his name might not have been Lorenzo Alexander. But hopefully that young kid comes in and provides what we thought he would when we drafted him,” said Ryan in reference to top draft choice Shaq Lawson. “Lorenzo, you can’t say enough for him. I mean, it’s just time and time again. You talk about a great pro that you wish every one of your players would emulate this guy, and you know what, to be honest with you, there are a lot of guys like that. But he’s right at the top of the list and what a tremendous job he’s done.”'

'Both sides of the ball were challenged, and I think the biggest challenge was special teams, but I think the biggest play of the day might have been when we stopped the fake punt, but (Special Teams Coordinator) Danny Crossman, (Special Teams Assistant) Eric Smith, and (Quality Control-Special Teams) Kathryn Smith did a great job preparing special teams for that exact play, so we were ready for it, but man, it was some tough sledding.'

'“You know, he did a great job and obviously he’s played this season with a ton of confidence and I think it’s based on the fact that he allows himself to really be coached,” Rex Ryan said. “And he has really bought into it with the film study, the preparation, and everything else. He’s got a lot of ability, but he doesn’t just rely on ability only. He’s a tireless worker, and it’s really paying off for us this year.”'

'Rex Ryan has shown he can coach when his back is against the wall. The Bills have responded to that miserable start with back-t0-back must-have wins, but they won't mean much if they lose to a Rams team that, on paper, has inferior talent.'
