'Tyrod Taylor scored on a 26-yard touchdown run, but his main job is to throw the ball. And that's where things didn't go so well for the Bills.'

'“I don’t think I’ve ever seen him this hot,” Bills head coach Rex Ryan said. “Maybe one other time he scorched me like crazy, but I can’t ever remember that kind of day.”'

'The Patriots then broke the game open by scoring 27 points over five consecutive possessions.'

'The Bills offense struggled without leading rusher LeSean McCoy and top receiver Sammy Watkins. McCoy missed the game due to a strained hamstring and Watkins is on injured reserve with a foot injury.'

'Bills wide receiver Brandon Tate is being evaluated for a concussion after leaving the game.'

'"I think it's unrealistic to think you're going to win your division when you just got beat by … how many games are they up now? Three?" Ryan said. "That team is three games up on us and at the halfway point they've lost one game. And No. 12 is back. So yeah, I don't see that happening. I hope I'm wrong."'

'Alexander pulled up limping after covering a Bills punt at the beginning of the second quarter.'

'But it was again the Patriots offense that would extinguish any hopes of a comeback when Tom Brady and company drove the ball 75-yards over 12 plays that was capped by a 1-yard LaGarrett Blount touchdown run. The Bills offense would attempt to respond again, driving the length of the field before being stopped on fourth down in the red zone when Tyrod Taylor just over throws an open Charles Clay in the end zone.'

'The only chance I gave the Bills in this game was if the defense found a way to frustrate Brady, similar to what they did in last season’s 20-13 defeat in New England. I figured the Bills had to hold Brady and company to 20 points and most likely less given the injuries the Bills had on offense. Brady put up 24 by halftime and for all intent and purposes, his 26th career victory against the Bills was in the books.'

'Gilmore may have been the worst regular player on the field overall. He was beaten twice easily in the first half by Chris Hogan, once for a 16-yard completion on 3rd and 10 and another on a 53-yard TD pass on 3rd and 13. He was also called for two holding penalties, both giving the Patriots a first down. The second of which was on a 3rd and 12 that was incomplete. As I reported earlier this week, Gilmore's camp is looking for top five cornerback money from the Bills as he plays out his fifth-year option. He clearly hasn't played at that level this season and Sunday underscored that.'

'Brady was surgical in the first quarter of action, converting five straight third downs, including a 53-yard strike to former Bills receiver Chris Hogan, for 97 yards and two touchdowns as New England opened up a 14-3 lead.'

'However, eventually, the score reflected just where the two teams were heading into the game: the Patriots — a healthy team firing on all cylinders with the best quarterback in the NFL and a solid defense to go along with it — and the Bills, a team down on their luck after suffering numerous injuries to key skill positions on the offensive side of the ball.'
