'"Obviously we got our nose bloodied real good last week," Bills defensive assistant Rob Ryan said Thursday. "That doesn't need to be our style of play. That was surprising. We didn't execute the plan as well as we should have and you have to take your hat off to the Jets. The did a better job making plays than we did, and it was a long damn day that's for sure."'

'"Well we had some holes," Whaley said at the time. "We had to have a makeover. If we didn't, we'd be going into the season with nobody so we were in that situation and we're very excited with how we filled those holes. We filled those holes better than we thought we'd be able to so we're excited about it.'

'"Probably not real good," Ryan said of the likelihood Watkins will play Sunday. "We'll see. If he feels good and he's up to it then we'll put him in there.'

'Early in the second quarter, Ryan Fitzpatrick connected on a pass to Brandon Marshall deep in Bills territory. Gilmore attempted to tackle Marshall and ended up pulling on the wide receiver's face mask. Marshall was injured on the play, but later returned to the game.'

'Kelly joked that the Ryan brothers were the original choice for the Twins Study, but that the two were too busy ruining the Bills.'

'In addition to Watkins, starting left tackle Cordy Glenn who did not play against the New York Jets will miss another game for an ankle injury.'

'The Bills' woes on offense are a big reason for their 0-2 start. Through two games, Buffalo is 30th in offense (276.5 yards per game) and 29th in third-down conversion (6 of 23).'

'"I just saw it in his face," said Woods, who also didn't know when the injury occurred. "He made a little face. It bothered him, whatever it was."'

'Ryan said it will essentially be a gametime decision for Watkins as they see how he feels over the weekend, adding "if he feels up to it, and he feels good, we'll put him in there."'

'After just two games, the Bills made the controversial decision to switch offensive coordinators. Greg Roman is out, and Anthony Lynn is in to make the offense take the next step. However, is it really just on Lynn?'

'After Friday's practice, Watkins received an official designation of "questionable," but head coach Rex Ryan said Thursday there was a "heightened concern" that he wouldn't be able to play. Then on Friday, the head coach said Watkins chances to play against the Cardinals are "not real good."'

'Watkins first experienced an issue with his foot, which underwent surgery for a Jones fracture in the spring, following the team’s Week 1 game at Baltimore. When he was able to come back and play on a short week last Thursday night against the Jets it was seen as an encouraging sign.'

'Jerry Hughes vs. D.J. Humphries: Buffalo’s top pass rusher is coming off a solid performance in Week 2. The Cardinals former first-round pick has handled most of his assignments well through the first two games, but Hughes might be the most versatile outside linebacker he’s faced thus far this season.'
