'If Ryan’s crew drops the two easiest games of that stretch, it could be looking at an 0-5 start and the season would effectively be over even for the most myopic fans.'

Bills offense had too man three-and-outs
'"It’s just that we had way too many three-and-outs," Bills coach Rex Ryan said. "I think we had five 'Ks' we call them. And so it’s hard to establish any sort of rhythm when you’re doing that. And then the first quarter, on defense, that team right there, they controlled the pace of the game, I think. That’s what it felt like to me and part of that is when you make teams go three-and-out, it's hard to establish a rhythm."'
Cyrus Kouandjio preparing for a bigger role if Cordy Glenn can't go Thursday
'Other players who would not have practiced Monday were safety Colt Anderson (foot), receiver Sammy Watkins (foot), tight end Jim Dray (ankle), defensive tackle Jerel Worthy (knee), and tight end Charles Clay (knee) – “but things look fine there,” Ryan said of Clay. Additionally, third-string quarterback Cardale Jones would’ve been limited in practice with his shoulder injury, Ryan said.'
Sammy Watkins could miss 'weeks' or even entire season with foot pain
'"He's going to be on the field,” Schefter said during a network broadcast. “He's going to play. He's probably going to be targeted an awful lot. But he is not 100 percent after undergoing offseason foot surgery. In fact, about a week or so ago, that foot got tired on him during practice. But he will be out there today despite the fact that he's not 100 percent."'
Report: Bills to re-sign fullback Jerome Felton
'Felton, 30, appeared in all 16 games last season for Buffalo, with eight starts. He played 26 percent of the team's offensive snaps.'
Buffalo Bills transcripts of Rex Ryan, Greg Roman, Jerry Hughes & Sammy Watkins
'Yeah, I mean, obviously we have a lot of work to do and albeit we’ve got to look at what we’re doing asking our guys and we’ve got to come up with something. I mean this defense now, that we’re getting ready to play, is as talented as there is. Maybe in the league. So you’ve got, you know, Sheldon Richardson is coming back, you got Big Mo (Muhammad Wilkerson) coming back. And then obviously you’ve got (Darrelle) Revis and company in the back end. So yeah it’s a very talented team. There’s no doubt about that.'
Jay Skurski's three up, three down following Buffalo's loss to Baltimore
'Reggie Bush: Why is he on the roster? After signing Brandon Tate, the punt-return job isn't an answer. There hasn't been much evidence since he signed to show that Bush has anything left in the tank. He rushed three times for minus-4 yards against the Ravens.'
Beefed-up security includes SWAT team in plain view at New Era Field
'“We decided we should add layers of protection, to make it as difficult as possible for the terrorists to commit their criminal acts,” said Erie County Sheriff’s Capt. William Cranston, who supervises the Special Services Division.'
After good start, CBS announcers have as bad a game as the Bills
'Wilcots was spouting typical analyst nonsense of not wanting to walk away without any points without seeing the flip side. A decision to kick a field goal would show lack of confidence in the team’s offensive line and, even if the fourth down play failed, the Ravens likely would have the ball at the 1-yard line, where a defensive stop by the Bills would put them right back in field goal territory.'
Only Week 2 but are Bills in must-win already?
'Rex Ryan kept telling us the defense would be better this year, and we all waived him off with raised eyebrows because, seriously, how was that going to happen? The roster looks weaker than 2015 on that side of the ball, sabotaged by injuries to rookies Reggie Ragland and Shaq Lawson and the suspension of Marcell Dareus. However, Ryan’s crew played more than well enough to win the game. The Ravens gained 83 yards in the second half and three of their nine first downs came courtesy of Buffalo penalties.'
Report: Bills Watkins re-injures foot
'It’s not known if Watkins will miss an extended amount of playing time or he will try and play through the pain. If another surgical procedure looms, that could jeopardize his entire season.'
Buffalo Bills' offense completes fewest plays in NFL
'The Bills played five different safeties and six different linebackers in the loss to the Ravens. Rex Ryan said after the game that he plans on using the entire roster. With some of the injuries they've had, the Bills employed a deep rotation on Sunday.'
Rex Ryan says Bills not talking about shutting down Sammy Watkins
'The Bills were held to just 160 yards of total offense on Sunday, their worst offensive output in a single game since 2006. The Ravens' defense proved to be a tough challenge, but Ryan thinks the Jets' defense the Bills will face in Week 2 is even better.'
Buffalo Bills cut Glenn Gronkowski to bring back fullback Jerome Felton (report)
'The Bills had no luck running the football in a 13-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, so they could use all the help they can get. Gronkowski played only eight snaps, so he wasn't entirely to blame by any means. However, bringing back a lead blocker LeSean McCoy is comfortable with can't hurt.'
