'The Bills need the reinforcements with first-round pick Shaq Lawson recovering from shoulder surgery and backup IK Enemkpali on waived/injured with a torn knee ligament on Monday.'

'Buffalo Bills star defensive tackle Marcell Dareus is facing a four-game suspension for another violation of the NFL's substance-abuse policy, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.'

'According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the suspension is marijuana-related.'

'Dareus signed a six-year, $108 million contract with the Bills last September, locking up the two-time Pro Bowler for the foreseeable future. This suspension couldn’t have come at worse time given the recent rash of injuries and problems the Bills have dealt with.'

'Dareus and Williams will both miss games at the Ravens, home vs. the Jets, home vs the Cardinals, and at the Patriots.'

'"Just the speed and size and how well guys are at their job. These guys train all year round and have been doing this for a number of years” Jones said. "In practice with coach Ryan and both of them(Rob Ryan), disguising some of the defenses and throwing so much stuff at me, I’m thinking hey I get in there and they just want to see what I can do. Definitely that and understanding the protections and understanding the scheme of it."'

'OLB Manny Lawson returned to the field for the first time after injuring his pectoral muscle before camp began. He said he was bench pressing 405 pounds when it happened. Lawson didn’t get much time on the field in team work, but worked in individual and special teams sessions.'

'With the suspension, Dareus would not be eligible to return to the Bills until Week Five of the regular season. Dareus would join Karlos Williams in being suspended for the first four games of the season, and according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Bills may be subject to a "steep fine" for violating the league's remittance policy.'

'Lawson was lined up at right outside linebacker, with the first team, in place of Lorenzo Alexander. While his timetable for a return to game action has yet to be determined, once he is all the way back, it’s pretty clear that he’ll be in the starting lineup and taking a ton of snaps until Shaq Lawson is able to return.'

'Dareus was previously suspended for one game in 2015, following an arrest in May 2014 after being caught with drug paraphernalia. According to The Buffalo News, he was in possession of synthetic marijuana.'
