'"I just think it is in the classroom, and listening in the classroom, and how it is being taught, the back and forth from players to coach and all that," the head coach told reporters Tuesday. "I think it is a great understanding, we have some great teachers."'

'So in this offense, Woods views himself as “an all-around guy.” After catching a myriad of passes on shorter routes in his career, averaging 12.1 yards per catch, he hopes to develop into more of a deep threat for quarterback Tyrod Taylor. He expects cornerbacks to press up closely on him, which will put his new wheels to the test.'

'“Defense is night and day from last year, where we are at this point,” safety Corey Graham said after the Bills completed their second spring practice. “They’re doing a great job as coaches, installing everything, making sure everybody understands everything. It's a lot – I wouldn't say simpler – but it's just, easier to understand. Everything is going pretty smooth. Guys are picking it up. I like where we're at right now.”'

'But if the Bills go sub-.500 this season, they absolutely should restructure how they construct a roster.'

'Whaley is like many working along One Bills Drive who have lost the benefit of the doubt. People long ago grew fatigued by nonsense spewed from the organization. Therefore, when the Bills say something asinine, they invite criticism.'

'It's good to see the Bills supporting Goodwin's pursuit of the gold. With that being said, there is no question he's firmly on the team's roster bubble. Missing all of spring practice and a good portion of training camp undoubtedly puts Goodwin behind in what promises to be a heated competition at wide receiver. Surely, he knows that.'

'"Ryan is known as a brilliant defensive mind, but he's going to need a bounce back season to retain that title. He hasn't produced a top-10 unit in three seasons, and he hasn't led his team to a winning record since 2010."'

'Outside of Woods and Watkins, there aren't too many locks to make the 53-man roster. Wide receivers coach Sanjay Lal joined WGR on Wednesday night and broke down the position a bit. He said it's only realistic for the team to keep five or six receivers from this group.'

'“If I’m smart while I'm playing football, I can use the resources I gain during my career to help me transition out of football and springboard into my next phase in life,” Woods said.'

'When it comes to Gilmore, I’m not so sure. I want them to keep Gilmore, who forms a terrific cornerback tandem with Ronald Darby and is one of the core players on the Bills defense. But I’ve never been a fan of paying a cornerback elite level money. The Bills already have three players whose average salary for the upcoming season ranks in the top five for their position and a fourth player is getting paid top 10 money for his spot.'
