'The Bills can talk about the best player available strategy, which to a certain point in later rounds is a good one to take. However, it’s a lot more complex than just taking the ‘best player on the board’ in the first round, because more often than not, the grades between prospects at different positions are so similar that you start to bring in other, more team and draft specific factors.'

'Whaley didn’t rule out a possible trade, but called the draft the “leader in the clubhouse” in how the Bills will add a signal caller. He also reiterated that no matter what quarterback might be drafted that Tyrod Taylor is the team’s starting quarterback in 2016.'

'“The reason teams move up for the quarterback position and make moves like this, you could call it desperation, is because that’s the only position really that you could make up for several other weaknesses on your roster, if you’re really good there,” said McShay. “With the salary cap where it is now, it’s very, very difficult to build a complete team on both sides of the ball and no position effects more positions and like I said overcome other weaknesses more so than the quarterbacks. You could understand why teams get desperate and do things like this. The odds don’t point in their favor though. We’ll see.'
