'"Nothing should amount to this kind of incident where you have someone going to the ground and have any individual stomping a person over a bottle of champagne. It makes no sense whatsoever," said Lt. John Stanford of Philadelphia Police.'

'McCoy, who currently plays for the Buffalo Bills, and former NFL running back Curtis Brinkley were involved in an altercation with two off-duty Philadelphia police officers at an Old City nightclub this weekend, according to a police report obtained by NBC10. The incident occurred at Recess around 2:45 early Sunday morning, police said.'

'The four suspects were identified through photographs by the victims and security guards.'

'The suspects were ejected from the club but were identified in photographs, the police said. Surveillance video footage shows the suspects leaving the club, but the encounter was not captured on video, the police said.'

'McCoy and his crew allegedly “punched and knocked” one of the officers to the ground, according to the police report. The victim was “punched, kicked and stomped about his body and head multiple times by all four Suspects,” while on the ground, the report states.'

'Philadelphia police said the dispute started over the ownership of a bottle of Champagne. The first cop was punched to the floor, and “while he was on the ground, he was punched, kicked and stomped about his body and head multiple times by all four Suspects,” according to the statement. He was treated at the hospital for broken ribs, a broken nose, sprained thumb and facial lacerations. The second cop, who intervened to halt the attack, is receiving treatment for a possible skull fracture, in addition to getting stitches over his eye.'

'The club had video surveillance, but cameras did not capture the altercation.'

'One officer had a broken nose, broken ribs and a sprained thumb and remained hospitalized, police said, while the second received stitches and had a possible skull fracture.'

'The Bills issued the following statement in a press release: "We are aware of the reports regarding LeSean McCoy and in the process of gathering more information. We will not provide any further comment at this time.'

'The argument, which, according to multiple reports, took place inside the Recess nightclub in the Old City, started over ownership of a bottle of champagne, according to the police statement. Police said that "pushing and shoving" over the bottle led to one of the off-duty officers being knocked to the ground, and while he was on the ground, he was "punched, kicked and stomped about his body and head multiple times by all four suspects."'

'The four suspects were subsequently identified through photographs by the complainants and by the security guards. Video surveillance was recovered from the outside of the club which shows both parties being ejected from the club; however, the incident itself wasn’t captured on video.'

'As per the reports, the altercation happened at Recess Lounge in Old City and “it was there that McCoy, and a friend, were involved in a physical altercation with the two officers, sources said.”'
