'You know how you offset J.J Watt and the Houston pass rush? You run the ball and the Bills came out with their ground and pound mindset. They topped 100 yards rushing before the first quarter came to an end on a day when someone named Mike Gillislee was pressed into action when LeSean McCoy needed a break.'

Bills/Texans: From the locker room
'It just feels good to get …. Knowing that we had to pull it out, everybody played well and we played the best we could. In certain areas we could have been better but we did the best we could. It feels good. We know we needed it and it feels good to know that we can really go out there and dig it out when we need to.'
Bills-Texans Arrow Up/Arrow Down
'The Bills QB didn’t have the highest completion percentage (52.3%), but he made big throws all afternoon and once again took care of the football. Taylor averaged over 10 yards per attempt and over 19 yards per completion. He threw for three touchdowns and ran for another. Along the way he set a franchise record for consecutive pass attempts without an interception, previously held by Drew Bledsoe. Taylor made good decisions, knowing when to be aggressive and when to keep things safe. And that 52.3% is a bit deceiving, as well, due to a couple drops by pass catchers. Taylor now has 17 TD passes and only 4 INTs. He has 9 TD and 0 INT in his last six starts.'
7 observations from Bills – Texans
'It was a masterful job by Roman to not only free up his big guns on offense, but by doing so methodically and forcing the Texans to make the mistakes that he wanted.'
Clay, Bills redeem themselves
'There were many Bills heroes on a day when they had their way against a J.J. Watt-led defense that had allowed just 8.8 points per game while winning its previous four games. The Texans yielded just two touchdowns in their 18 quarters before Sunday. The Bills scored three touchdowns against them in the first half alone.'
Bills Pull Out 30-21 Win Over Houston
'I was very discouraged by the play of the defense most of the game but they really shut things down when it counted late in the game without Stephon Gilmore who left with an injury. Most of the season when things started going south they continued that way but not in this game. The Titans had tied it up and it was looking a lot like the Chiefs game a week ago. The Bills dug down deep, shut the Texans offense down late in the game and the Bills made the plays to get the win. They still may not make the playoffs but at least we can dream for another week.'
Most Complete Offensive Effort Of The Season In Win
'Rex Ryan kept his team focused for the whole game and the penalties were down. A solid win to keep them alive.'
Tyrod Taylor slays Texans, keep Bills in wild-card hunt
'Kudos to the Bills' offensive coaching staff for a game-plan that flummoxed a defense allowing just 8.8 points per game over the past month. Taylor and LeSean McCoy moved the chains consistently with a zone-read attack. Watkins torched promising rookie cornerback Kevin Johnson, who was yanked after allowing two deep balls and a pair of touchdowns in the first half. J.J. Watt was kept relatively in check, going without a sack while managing just one tackle for a loss. The Texans simply aren't a playoff team unless the defense dominates.'
Bills have playoff life with big win over Texans
'Tied at 21 at the two-minute warning, Tyrod Taylor found a wide open Charles Claydown the seam with 1:53 remaining and he waltzed into the end zone for a 40-yard touchdown to put Buffalo ahead for good.'
Game-winning TD is Clay's redemption
'“Those guys put a ton of trust in me, after the drop, to come back and give me a chance to make another play,” said Clay. “Tyrod trusted me in that situation. He put that ball on the money. Those are the hardest ones to complete when a guy is wide open, hardest one to catch too. I feel like I did a pretty good job of trying to put the drop behind me. I have a lot of teammates, like Richie (Incognito) telling me that I’ll make up for it. For them to come back to me meant a lot.”'
What they're saying: Bills-Texans postgame comments
'It’s easy when you just tell the truth and that was it. We hadn’t played our best game in all three phases and maybe it wasn’t today or whatever. But I know the effort was gonna be there. It’s always been there. We had to play smarter and the penalties, I saw they had 10 and we had five, I believe is what it was.'
Bills consider Texans game a must-win situation
'“We understand what’s at stake,” Buffalo quarterback Tyrod Taylor said. “But at the same time you have to worry about … or not worry about it, but rather focus on each and every day. Our preparation is what’s gonna make us our best … trying to win today.”'
Faithful cling to trickle of hope
'Ryan is starting to remind me of Tom Donahoe, who was going to show the rubes in Buffalo what winning football really looked like. Like the ex-GM, Rex is finding that, if anything, people in this town are smart and demanding.'

Dunbar says Mario Williams still a threat in Bills defense
'"He’s done a great job for us," Dunbar said. "The sucker’s been rushing the passer well. I know everybody talks to us that our sack totals are down. But if you watch our games, the quarterback’s not holding the ball. They’re getting the ball out of their hands. And he’s doing a great job of playing the run, doing everything we ask him to do.”'
