'The Bills' defense has shown a propensity to struggle when it comes to switching players in and out of the lineup to accommodate various defensive looks and anticipated offensive formations. The Eagles' offense is designed to make such substituting difficult, if not impossible, and causes the defense to risk being caught short of a player or two or penalized. It won't be easy, but Buffalo's scout team must do the very best job possible replicating the up-tempo approach of Kelly's offensive scheme.'

'“To get to where we were at, that was almost impossible,” said quarterback Kelly, who suggested the film to Rodgers while being interviewed for a project that focused on the great quarterbacks of the 1983 draft class. “You have to rely on other people that mentally it will not bring them down, their preparation will be the same, their work ethic will be the same, their mind will be right.”'

' McCoy said he plans to let actions speak louder than words against his old team in a game critical to both team’s playoff chances. But he still had plenty to say and infer about how he feels about Kelly. How the guy killed his dream: the Pennsylvania kid playing for a Pennsylvania NFL team, cheered by Eagles fans the way they once did for Ricky Watters and Brian Westbrook.'

'"I think Darby will accept that role," said Ryan. "And we’re fortunate, we have another corner with a great deal of experience in Leodis McKelvin. So I think that’ll really help us."'

'Bruce Smith had a single-game career-high of four sacks worth 33 yards in losses. He also had nine tackles and one tipped pass.'

'"(The trade) had nothing to do with Lesean's ability," Kelly said. "It had nothing to do with LeSean at all. He was an outstanding player for us, gave us everything he had for two years. I enjoyed coaching him and he's playing the way I always knew he could play."'

'Wide receiver Sammy Watkins said he thinks Rob Ryan was just doing some self scouting on the Bills' defense. According to Albert Breer of the NFL Network, Rob Ryan isn't yet with the Bills in any official coaching capacity.'

'"We've got nothing to shake hands for," McCoy said. "Some of the dudes, players there, I'll shake their hands. Probably going to talk to [Jeffrey" target="_blank"> Lurie a little bit. A couple different coaches. A lot of players over there I'm still tight with. I'm going to give Duce [Staley" target="_blank"> a big hug. But that's pretty much it. . . . What are [Kelly and McCoy" target="_blank"> shaking hands for? We don't have that type of relationship. I have nothing negative to say about him. I'm not going into an argument or fight with me. I just don't think we need to shake hands."'

'"It's a different dynamic," Kelly said before practice Wednesday in preparation for Sunday's game against Taylor and the Bills. "It's similar to playing – not that he is the same player as Cam because Cam is obviously a different body type – but when that quarterback has the ability to run, it's different."'

'Asked how Kelly differs from Bills coach Rex Ryan, McCoy said: "They're way different. Way, way different . . . I think it's the small things. Rex is more worried about playing football. The way you wear your hat or the way you wear your jeans, or the different socks you wear, he don't care about that. As long as a player does his job, he don't care about that type stuff. He wants to win games. The rules for the team are to play with respect and to constantly play for the logo on the helmet. And that's all he cares about.'

'“You know what, to be honest, whatever I do say, it doesn’t matter,” he said. “I’m not looking at all of that — if I was treated better. Right now, it don’t matter. It is what it is. I just thought that maybe there’d be better communication because I was really tight with the owner. So I thought that would have ran a little better. Other than that, it doesn’t matter if I got treated better or not. I mean, it happened. It is what it is. And I’m not the only player that’s going to get traded that’s a good player.”'

'“What are we shaking hands for?” McCoy said on a conference call Wednesday. “We don’t have that type of relationship. I have nothing against him. I don’t have no hatred. I have nothing negative to say about him. I’m not going to get into an argument with him or fight with him. I just don’t think shaking hands.'

'And why not Kelly? "We don't have that type of relationship," McCoy said.'

'"The first thing that popped into my head was, 'What's the asking price?' " Ryan said Wednesday ahead of Sunday's game at Lincoln Financial Field.'
