'The first half was uninspiring with the Bills defense surrendering three total touchdowns to Kirk Cousins, while the offense sputtered amassing 93 total yards and just three points.'

7 observations from Bills – Washington
'The mundane malaise of mediocrity has hovered over One Bills Drive for the past decade and a half, and now, it’s here. For the 16th straight season, that dark cloud remains over Orchard Park.'
Buffalo eliminated from playoff contention as they fall to the Redskins 35-25
'The two teams headed into the game with playoffs hopes still alive, however only one team started the game as if their playoff hopes had life.'
Bills a Mess Once More
'There are reports the Pegulas have asked veteran NFL consultants to evaluate the Bills football operations, which, if true, does not bode well for Whaley’s future. The bottom line is that Rex holds the power and won’t be the fall guy for this season’s woes. So, if he and Whaley can’t get along, Whaley will be the one shown the door. You might remember that Whaley also was involved in a power struggle with Doug Marrone, who opted to roll the dice on another coaching job and take a $4 million buyout. Marrone wasn’t the easiest guy in the world to work for or with, but you wonder if a pattern might be developing.'
Redskins Blowout Bills 35-25
'Every December for the past 16 years we have had to sit through one of these games. One where they team started looking ahead to their offseason plans and seemed very disinterested for a road game with nothing on the line. They seemed to never get off the bus and just gave up before the game ever started which is astonishing since they were still mathematically alive. Receivers were wide open all over the field for Washington while Tyrod Taylor was running for his life on almost every dropback. Rex Ryan said when he was hired they would build the bully and have the top ranked defense. Laughable statements by an overblown blowhard. The defense is the worst one in years around here and the offensive line was manhandled by another tough NFC East defensive line. It's the type of game where we wonder aloud why we keep coming back for more of the same. To make matters worse there are still two game to go in a season that has gone so wrong.'
Pathetic Play By Defense And OL In Blowout Loss
'Grade F-: The worst coverage by a secondary I've seen in a long time.'
Washington's fast start too much for Bills to overcome
'There wasn’t much that went right for Buffalo in a first half that saw them give up touchdowns on Washington’s first two drives as the Bills were unable to muster any points of their own until the second half.'
Absent improvement, Ryan forecasts changes
'“We’re going to get better,” Ryan said. “The reality of it is this. This is the National Football League and unless we get a heck of a lot better there are going to be changes. That’s what I told them there will be drastic changes.”'
Taylor to Watkins connection exploding down the stretch
'“I couldn’t have asked for a better ball,” said Watkins. “He dropped it in. It was so perfect. Like I said, it’s what we work on every week. We go over it. We prepared. We work on different looks, and we got the perfect look. He just launched the ball, and I had to go get it and make a play.”'
Players, Ryan feel burden of missing playoffs
'“We said the biggest sin is to be home watching somebody else in the playoffs, so this is very heartbreaking,” said a dejected Nickell Robey in the locker room Sunday. “We’ve got the team and the players and the coaches and the organization. We just couldn’t get it done this year.”'
Bills focused on Redskins today
'“They have the best left tackle in the league, or one of them, (Trent) Williams. (Former Raiders coach) Bill Callahan is coaching the offensive line and if he’s not the best offensive line coach in the league it’s a short roll call to get to his name. So they’re well-coached and they’re physical.”'
Are you tired of the Bills’ ‘must wins?’
'The point is, this isn’t necessarily a young team on the rise, not with a dozen players who will have reached their 30th birthday by next season and some holes in the unit that was supposed to carry the franchise. That’s what makes 2015 so depressing for many Bills fans.'
Sunday's Washington Coverage
Bills G Richie Incognito is having a Pro Bowl-worthy season
'“Earlier in my career, it was really hard for me to differentiate between being a tough, nasty football player on the field and a tough, nasty guy off the field. It was all mixed and jumbled. As I grew, as I matured, as I became more professional, I found my way to be that guy on the field and then just turn it off.”'
Bills have tough call coming on Taylor
'Greg Roman, the offensive coordinator, described Taylor as “raw” and said he’s been down this road before. He was with the Niners when they gave Colin Kaepernick a six-year, $114 million deal that’s hanging off the franchise like an ugly Christmas tree ornament.'
