Bills quarterback is a deep thinker
'“It’s definitely one of the strengths of my game,” Taylor said of throwing the deep ball. “I think that I’ve shown that I can throw a deep ball, but it’s something to speak for our offense. Big plays are definitely part of our offense and whenever we get a chance to make those plays, we have to be on it.”'
Chip Kelly apologizes for how trade went down, repeats he'd shake McCoy's hand
'Kelly said the Eagles dealt McCoy to free up money and sign quarterback Sam Bradford, apologized for how the trade went down and wishes the team would've handled it different. And Kelly reiterated he'd shake McCoy's hand on Sunday if McCoy extended his hand.'
Sammy Watkins seeks the Jones/Bryant/Megatron level
'"I'm just trying to get to that elite category if I'm not already there," Watkins said. "Just trying to play my game and every week impose my will on the opposing secondary. Just keep playing hard. I think I'm finishing blocks. I'm running great routes and just trusting my preparation."'
Meanwhile, frustration mounts for DeMarco Murray
'"Obviously it's hard," Murray said. "I've never been in this situation before. You kind of deal with it as best you can. But every guy in this locker room wants the ball. It's not just me. Everybody wants the football, everybody wants to make plays. The biggest thing for me is that I want to contribute to this team and I feel like I can be a big piece of that. Obviously we won the game so I was extremely happy about that but you always want to contribute in any way, whether it's passing the ball, blocking, whatever the case may be."'
Despite practice appearance, Aaron Williams’ future is uncertain
'“They were feeling my left side and I said I couldn't feel that,” he recalled Thursday of his initial injury. “They just told me don't move. Next thing I know I was on a stretcher.”'
Bacarri Rambo 'studies the game,' takes advantage of opportunity
'"If you prepare, that's when you make plays because you know what's coming and you know how to line people up and get yourself lined up," Rambo said. "'Preparation meets opportunity' and that's one thing I always carry with me."'
Buffalo Bills' safety Aaron Williams played through numbness, had neck surgery and may not play
'"You never know if it's going to be your last game or not," Williams said. "I'm not really thinking of my health in the future. I always think in the moment. Told myself 'Suck it up, you've been hurt before, you've played hurt before. Give everything you have.'Unfortunately I had to go on and off the field a few plays. Some of the hits did hurt to where I was in serious pain, but the guys let me come on the sideline and take a couple plays off. I had to pass a lot of tests, so for me to go back there I had to really make sure I was ok and I passed the tests, went back out there and finish the game."'
Aaron Williams injury: Bills safety back at practice for first time since Week 5
'"Aaron won't play this week," Ryan said. "He will continue to condition, he won't be on the practice field running with the pads on, everything. We like where he is at. Hopefully at the end of the year we will be able to use him, and he will be able to play for us. But we are not going to put him out there till we know, and our trainers are on top of it. He has been working out with our strength coaches, and conditions and all that as well. So we will see how it fairs out late in the season. But don't expect him to play this week, he won't play this week."'
Bills legend Thurman Thomas had some advice for LeSean McCoy
'"I expect over 200 yards from LeSean," Thomas said with a laugh. "Nah, you know what he's really gotten on a roll the last four or five weeks. Obviously going back to where he grew up is going to be a big emotional day for him. But I told him today, I said 'You know what? The last time the Bills and former players were on an emotional high was the New England game, and you can't allow yourself to get caught up with what's going to be happening in the game, especially with the crowd and Chip (Kelly) and all that. You have to go out and keep doing what you've been doing and you'll be fine.' I expect a big game out of LeSean, but I expect an overall team effort and for them to go down there and beat Philly."'
McCoy silliness aside, Bills can't afford to slip up against Eagles
'The Bills are hurt by their 6-5 record against conference opponents, with only one remaining game against an AFC team, the Jets in Week 17.'
Kelly regrets handling of McCoy trade
'"Every player that's ever left this team, I've talked to them personally myself. Everyone that's in town, we talk to them individually here in our office. . . . We have a way that we do it that I think is the right way to do it, and it wasn't exercised in that case and I understand why he's bothered. He was an all-time leading running back here, felt like he was disrespected, and it was wrong. Because I was part of it, it's on me."'
With LeSean McCoy, Tyrod Taylor, Eagles see Bills as a dual threat
'With McCoy and with Taylor, "on the backside of a play, you've got to know where you're at, know your opponent, really. You've got to be aware on the backside that it could come back all the way to you," Allen said.'
Eagles' Chip Kelly: LeSean McCoy trade 'wasn't handled right'
'"My understanding was the trade would not be initiated until the next morning so there was no phone call to be made (to McCoy)," Kelly said, "and then all of a sudden, I'm driving to an event and hear he's been traded.'
Chip Kelly’s apology … too little, too late?
'“That’s the way it should’ve been done,” Kelly said. “It wasn’t handled that way with LeSean, and I understand why he’s not happy about it. And he should not be happy about it. And I would apologize for that because it didn’t happen the right way.'
