'“Most times when I go across the field, I can whip most head coaches,” Ryan said Wednesday in a conference call with South Florida reporters. “But I ain’t whipping that one. I ain’t even trying to whip that one. He’s a big dude.”'

'"I think this week we're just going to take a whole bunch (of plays) out and just play fast. That's what we want to do," Brown said. "We don't have to be as complicated as we've been in the past."'

'"I've got a ton of respect for Rex Ryan," Campbell said. "He has done a lot of things in this league. Their style of play and what they do, you know they're going to come after you. You always respect that, because that's how we want to be."'

'"We expect better results right now," Ryan said. "I know our fans deserve better than 3-4, there's no question."'

'"There's no other added risk," Ryan said. "So he's healthy. This is as healthy as he's been all season. So I'm excited to see him. I'm excited to see a guy who can run a 4.4 (in the 40-yard dash) back there at quarterback. I'm excited to see his arm talent and the weapons that we can surround him with.'

'"You're always constantly making adjustments on what you do and what you ask your players to do," Ryan said. "Do we simplify things? We hope it's getting simpler to our guys, if we're not making the mistakes that we've made.'

'Three years removed from his only Pro Bowl, Incognito is playing at that type of level again. But after eight years playing in the NFL, he says the one he was away from the game is what gives him perspective today. “I think I’m definitely more appreciative going out there and practicing,” he told reporters at his locker Wednesday. “I guess in my younger days I’d go out to practice and be like, ‘Oh we got to go practice,’ and things like that. Now, I’m excited to get out there. I missed it. I had something that I loved taken away from me and it’s given me a new appreciation for it. I’m surrounded by great teammates, they really make it fun to play. Being around guys like (Eric) Wood and (Kraig) Urbik and Cordy Glenn and John Miller and Seantrel (Henderson), it’s fun every day.”'

'Ryan specifically mentioned his quarterback, Tyrod Taylor, is as healthy as he’s been all season long, and said he’s excited to see what he can do. “I’m excited to see a guy that run a 4.4 (forty) back there. I’m excited to see his arm talent and the weapons we can surround him with. I’m definitely excited to see that.”'

'Over the past several weeks, many defensive players have talked candidly to reporters about simplifying the scheme, and to just allow the players to do what they’re best at. It seemed like ahead of the bye week, head coach Rex Ryan was fairly receptive to the notion. However, when prodded for his thoughts on linebacker Preston Brown saying to just line them up in base defense and allow them to play, Ryan had some thoughts of his own.'

'“It’s big, he’s obviously the leader of this offense,” said Charles Clay of Taylor’s return. “Anytime you get a guy like that back who brings a whole other dimension to the offense. Anytime you get a guy like that back it’s tough on a defense.”'
