'Kromer, now the offensive line coach for the Bills, could face stern discipline from the league. The NFL's personal conduct policy was updated and amended in December with an intent to take a stronger stance against employees who are involved in incidents of violence.'

'How the Bills, and the NFL, deal with allegations against Kromer will be telling.'

'He was mired in controversy last year when he admitted he was the anonymous source behind an NFL Network report criticizing the team’s franchise quarterback Jay Cutler. The report indicated the team had a case of “buyer’s remorse” regarding the quarterback and that he “absolutely killed” the team’s offense.'

'The 48-year-old Kromer, a Rex Ryan hire after the Bears gave him the ax, confronted three boys who were fishing on a beach in Walton County, Fla., over a hazy disagreement about the use of beach chairs, according to police.'

'When they arrived deputies spoke to the caller and learned three boys had been fishing on the beach when the suspect, later identified as Buffalo Bills Offensive Line Coach Aaron Kromer, and the suspect's son confronted them over the use of beach chairs left by a beach access.'

'In a written statement, the Bills said, "We are aware of the report and in the process of gathering the facts."'

'The Walton County Sheriff's Office said Sunday it received a call in reference to a battery at Inlet Beach on Saturday night. Deputies who responded were told that three boys had been fishing on the beach when they were confronted by Kromer and his son over the use of beach chairs left near a beach access.'

'Kromer had a "physical altercation" with his neighbor's son, according to the Walton County (Fla.) Jail. Kromer was booked at 1:51 a.m. ET Sunday and released at 3:10 a.m. on the misdemeanor battery charge with intent to cause bodily harm.'

'It was stated Kromer then told the boys to return the chairs to where they found them. The victim stated Kromer also told him if he reported him to the police he would kill his family.'

'If all this happens, the Florida legal expert expects Kromer to plead not guilty, because that will give Kromer and his lawyer time to review the evidence against him, develop a defense, negotiate a plea bargain, etc..'

'“You’ve got to be physical now,” he said. “You’ve got to put that on film where you’ve got some heads snapping back. You can’t show that you’re just taking on blocks. You’ve got to show a physical presence so your opponents know they’re in for a fight.”'

'Whenever Robey is wheezing in fatigue during practice, whenever he stares at a receiver across the line who’s six, seven inches taller, he thinks of his mother. “It gives me more of a push,” Robey said. “That makes me go. Because I know if she was living, she’d be appreciating everything that I’m doing and pushing me through it.'

'Darryl talked about a subject that isn’t easy for him, his own struggle with depression. He took the step when I was finally able to convince him that he had no clarity. It was like he was swimming in oatmeal. He couldn’t order from a McDonald’s menu, let alone make prudent business decisions. Darryl was team captain for many years with the Buffalo Bills and called most of the defensive plays, a skill that required repetitive split-second decision-making. Now he can’t decide if he wants bacon or sausage with his eggs.'

'There’s definitely a buzz. There’s a certain expectation. I think the playoffs is a fair expectation for this team, and that is kind of rare. I guess the No. 1 reason would be Rex Ryan. They’ve got a big-name coach. There haven’t been a lot of big-name coaches around here since Marv Levy. It’s been Chan Gailey, Mike Mularkey, Gregg Williams, Dick Jauron. To get a name like Rex Ryan in and a proven defensive coach has created a buzz we haven’t seen in years.'
