They kept Marcell Dareus after he ran into legal problems partly because he was a great defensive tackle. They must have figured Kromer was worth hiring even though he caused a major controversy in Chicago.'

'As mentioned, EJ Manuel was at his best on 1st down passes. His 98 passer rating in weeks 1-3 on first and 10 ranked him behind (primarily) future hall of fame quarterbacks. Manuel was out-dueling most of the league on 1st down. And he was passing on 45% of these 1st down plays (NFL average was 46%). But in weeks 4 and 5, Marrone called 9 passes and 36 runs on 1st downs. That's 20% passes and 80% runs!'

'The O-line coach needs to help Cordy Glenn get back to the top of his game, make sure Richie Incognito behaves himself and sort out the right side of the line. At this point it appears the Bills will have a rookie starting at right guard in John Miller and a second year player at right tackle. That would be either Seantrel Henderson who has all of 16 NFL starts on his resume or Cyrus Kouandjio who has zero NFL starts and wasn't good enough to be on the field for a single offensive snap last season.'

'In Roman, the Bills appear to have just the right coach to resuscitate Buffalo’s rushing attack. He spent four seasons as Offensive Coordinator in San Francisco, and Roman’s Niners teams were never ranked below 8th in the league when it came to yards on the ground. The last three seasons, San Francisco was ranked 4th, 3rd, and 4th in rushing yards per game.'
