'But what are the Bills' chances of signing Collins? If he's cleared of any wrongdoing, it's safe to say every NFL team will have some level of interest in the former Tiger. The Bills have a couple of things working in their favor. The first is Rex Ryan. His recruiting skills have been top notch this offseason. The Bills also have an opportunity for Collins to possibly come in and play immediately. There's a cap on what he can make as an undrafted free agent, but money shouldn't be an issue with Buffalo's new ownership, either.'

'“It’s fun. I’m a 22-year-old guy telling these old guys what do,” Brown said after a recent minicamp presence. “That’s something I had to learn back in college. They taught me how to be more assertive and just have that presence about myself. I’m starting to get with the flow here.”'

'Given that the Bills will run a defensive scheme in 2015 under Rex Ryan that bares some similarities to the one in 2013, reuniting with Carrington makes sense. He will likely play a similar role to the one he held in 2013 – primarily being counted on to stop the run. He joins Stefan Charles and Corbin Bryant in providing depth along the defensive line.'

'Collins was expected to be a first-round pick in the NFL Draft last week, even going to Chicago for the event. But he was passed over entirely after his name surfaced in a murder investigation. Baton Rouge homicide detectives wanted to talk to Collins about the death of 29-year-old Brittney Mills, who was pregnant at the time of her death April 24. The baby, Breton, was born, but died May 1.'

'"Right now we haven't thought about it," Whaley said. "We still want that process to continue out. I know from what I understand he's got something on Monday, so I think we would reserve judgment until we get some more information. It's too cloudy at this time."'

'Carrington was active for just eight games during the 2014 season. He played in only 191 snaps with the Rams and recorded one tackle.'

Collins has received interest from “almost every” NFL team over the past few days and will likely meet with several teams over the next few days, the source said.'

'The signing gives the Bills added depth and experience on the defensive line as the team transitions to a 3-4 scheme under coach Rex Ryan. The Bills did not select any defensive linemen in the draft.'

'Carrington has 53 tackles, 4.0 sacks and 14 tackles for loss in five NFL seasons, but he had just one tackle in eight games in 2014. His four blocked kicks during the 2012 season still stands as a Bills single-season team record.'

'NFL.com has reported that the Dolphins and Cowboys are also interested in Collins, who many believed would be drafted in the first-round before news of the investigation. He can now sign a three-year contract with any team. Since Collins went undrafted, he cannot re-enter the 2016 draft.'

'The 2015 drafted and undrafted Bills rookie class will be on the field for the first time when the team holds a rookie minicamp this coming Friday through Sunday.'

'Carrington signed a one-year free agent deal with the St. Louis Rams last offseason where he played in eight games and registered one tackle.'

'The Bills might also feel they have a "let's see if this kid has anything" quarterback on the roster already in Tyrod Taylor. With just 14 pro starts, we can probably still put EJ Manuel in that category too.'
