‘It was a game the Bills (5-4) let get away, while squandering an opportunity to gain an edge in a jumbled AFC playoff picture.’

Bumbling Bills fumble away 17-13 loss to Chiefs
‘”I take this … to heart,” said McKelvin, expressing his frustrations during a profanity-laced postgame interview. “I fumbled the ball. It hurt us. But we still had a chance to come back and win the game. (Stuff) happens in the game. But you’ve still got to overcome it.”‘
Bills receiver Watkins active against Chiefs
‘With Watkins playing, receiver Mike Williams is inactive for the second time in four games.’
Kansas City 17, Buffalo 13
‘Kyle Orton was 29-of-48 for 259 yards and a touchdown for Buffalo (5-4), which carried a 10-point edge into the fourth and squandered opportunities to put the Chiefs away.’
Bills RB Jackson, WR Watkins active
‘Jackson is active for the first time since being hurt in a game on Oct. 19 against Minnesota. He practiced this week for the first time since suffering the groin injury, which forced him to miss only one game because of Buffalo’s bye last week.’
Smith, Charles rally Chiefs past Bills
‘Kansas City’s defense stopped the Bills on downs at the 15 with 2:31 remaining following a 23-yard McKelvin punt return that gave the Bills a drive start at the Chiefs’ 25.’
Chiefs-Bills: What we learned
‘QB Kyle Orton can’t bring the Bills back every time.’
Ooof
‘Simply put, the Bills needed to put the Chiefs down in a game they controlled for most of the afternoon. They failed to do so and now more than likely will have to scramble to make up ground if they’re going to keep their playoff hopes alive.’
Not again! Come on Bills!
‘Instead we are again left angry, frustrated and depressed by a game that got away. Again!’
The Bills waste an opportunity
‘Marrone teams are prone to dumb mistakes and dumb penalties and I just don’t see that changing.’
Observations: Chiefs 17 – Bills 13
‘Regardless of how well the Bills offense and defense played against the Kansas City Chiefs in this game, when it came down to it and a tough decision had to be made, the Bills and head coach Doug Marrone turtled.’
Bills Fumble Away Win Against Chiefs
‘A loss, considering the foes that await in December (Denver, Green Bay and New England) may put their season on life support.’
Self-induced mistakes kill Bills
‘The play-calling continues to leave much to be desired. Marrone remains ultra conservative. He needs, at some point, to show confidence in his offense and go for it on fourth-and-short (and not just to try to draw the opposition offsides as he did Sunday.)’
Immediate Reactions: Kansas City Chiefs 17, Buffalo Bills 13
‘Perhaps that’s what the league is becoming if you don’t have an elite quarterback, quick passes that limit the amount of reads a quarterback has to make. Furthermore, a guy like Orton who can adequately assess a defense before the snap is a good fit. It’s not about a major arm or taking shots down the field. It’s about, guuuulllllp, managing the game.’
Bills Lose Heartbreaker 17-13
‘Another one of those devastating losses we have seen so often in the past 14 years. The Bills had chances to the put the game away in the 2nd half but fumbled the ball away twice. They also couldn’t find the end zone after a takeaway of their own and were stopped at the three on another drive. They just shot themselves in the foot. It may have been payback afterall they could have lost to the Lions, Vikings, or the Bears but it doesn’t make it feel any better. Everyone was hoping things were finally changing, maybe it was “our time” like the slogan says. Once you allow yourselves to think that is when you are doomed to be disappointed. That is at least what happens when you are a Bills fan.’
